A Monster of a Night

Willetton & Bateman Guides make a bold stroke

In Term 4 of 2020, Willetton Sunshine Guides and Bateman Star Guides joined together for a cartooning workshop titled Monster Mash with local artist Will Huntley. Exposing Guides to creative professionals is one of the ways we help them understand their potential and give them opportunities to find and develop their talents.

The girls had a blast! Will taught them to combined features of different animals to make their own creations. The girls then named their monsters and came up with habitats, behaviour and eating habits.

Girls must take risks when they create something unique and inventive; however, done in a safe, nurturing environment like a Guide meeting, even the least confident girls are able to engage with their creativity.
