OVERVIEW

As we celebrate the success of GIPA’s domestic introduction this year GIPA will commit to creating an ecosystem for Indonesian professionals through the establishment of our Indonesia Hub GIPA's Indonesia Hub’s first initiative is the creation of the Global Connect Series, a platform of networking events for inbound Indonesian professionals to connect and share knowledge on Indonesia’s professional environment.

The Global Connect Series: Women in Industry (June, 2023) hosted by GIPA and supported by Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia welcomes professionals from all backgrounds, genders, and career stages who are passionate about championing gender equality and fostering inclusive work environments.

This event is the second installment of the Global Connect Series, which aims to empower returning overseas professionals by offering them the resources that would help them acclimate to the Indonesian workforce

ENABLING INDONESIA’S WOMEN OF TOMORROW

The event is the second installment to GIPA’s Global Connect Series, which aims to empower returning overseas professionals by offering them the resources that would help them acclimate to the Indonesian workforce. This highly anticipated seminar brought together a diverse range of inspiring women and industry leaders from around the country and the world Through interactive panel discussions, keynote speeches, and workshops, attendees were offered the opportunity to directly learn and network accomplished professionals and gain valuable insight ow they can thrive in the modern workplace. Around managerial-level professionals and executives from an of Indonesian companies attended the event event addressed key topics such as the payment gap in nesia, company policies that support career women families, and women ’ s participation in positions of ership.

Jakarta, Indonesia On Saturday (24/06), Global Indonesia Professionals’ Association (GIPA) and PT Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia collaborated to host a fireside chat discussing the role of women within Indonesia’s various industries The event included several notable names such as Shinta Kamdani, CEO of Sintesa Group; Nina Wirahadikusumah, Business Strategy Director at Microsoft; Gita Sjahrir, the Special Advisor to Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry of Maritime and Investment Affairs; and Tedi Bharata, the Deputy for Human Resources, Technology, and Information at Indonesia’s Ministry of State Owned Enterprises (Kementerian BUMN) Siti Nugraha Mauludiah, a Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave the opening remarks.

“We have been doing research and based on testimonies from many professional women in the industry, we have found some common occurrences that limit women ’ s advancement in the professional [scene]. We are currently working to increase the participation of women in the Indonesian State-owned Enterprise Board of Directors,” said Tedi Bharata from the Ministry of State-owned Enterprise

Nina Wirahadikusumah is a seasoned leader in multinational corporations with 25+years of experience in Information Technology Prior to Microsoft, Nina was working at IBM as Country Manager and ASEAN Software Channel Executive Nina is always passionate for new learnings, challenges and opportunities to create bigger impact for business, people and society.

Tedi Bharata has served as the Deputy for Human Resource Management, Technology, and Information at the Ministry of SOEs since August 5, 2021. Prior to this position, he served as the Fifth Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs in 2021, Vice President of Office of the Board Mind ID in 2019-2020, and Investment Planning Manager-Telematic Industry of the Investment Coordinating Board in 2016-2019

Evelyn Satyono

Commissioner, Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia

Evelyn Satyono has extensive banking and capital market experience from her career global financial insitutions since 1992 She started as an analyst at Citibank in Jakarta and later worked at Merrill Lynch Asset Management, Hong Kong, and SBC Warburg, Indonesia. Prior to joining Samuel Group in 2003, her last position was vice president at HSBC Private Banking, Singapore Evelyn Satyono served as director at Samuel Asset Management from 2003-2009 and country representative for Samuel Beijing office from 2009-2013 Thereafter, she served as director and head of sales and marketing at SSI from 2013-2021

GIPA'S INDONESIA HUB ABOUT

Following the successful Global Human Capital Summit (GHC Summit) in Aug 2022 as a side event to B20 Summit and supported by Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), GIPA sees the need to launch a platform for returning Indonesian professionals and executives who worked abroad for some time GIPA's Indonesia Hub was then launched in February 2023 to take this initiative forward with the aim of 3C: Connect, Collaborate, and Consolidate

One of Indonesia Hub’s initiative is the creation of the Global Connect Series, a platform of networking events for inbound Indonesian professionals to connect and share knowledge on Indonesia’s professional environment

GIPA's Indonesia Hub aims to:

1. CONNECT

Connect like-minded Indonesian overseas professionals who returned home, being their go-to network outside work

2. COLLABORATE

Collaborate with key stakeholders to advance Indonesia’s economic diplomacy and human capital development

3. CONSOLIDATE

Consolidate supports system for Indonesians going global by introducing them to the growing overseas professionals’ hubs across the world
