GLOBAL SKILLS CENTER

During the GHC Summit, GIPA launched the Global Skills Center This initiative stems from GIPA’s Centre of Excellence on Professional Development Going Global Series, a series that aims to increase awareness and understanding of digital, green, and healthcare economic sectors These events focus on highlighting key competencies and skills to help Indonesians be competitive in an ever-competitive job environment both locally and abroad

Indonesia can become a top five economy by 2050 with the best talent working in their most suitable sectors Indonesia is projected to have a shortage of 3 8 million skilled talents with higher education degrees by 2030, resulting in an unrealized USD $440 billion over the next decade This talent gap is especially pronounced in these G20 priority areas: Health, Green, and Digital economic sectors

One main means to achieve this goal is through the Global Skills Center, an online platform to help companies, public and private sectors embed tailored professional development practices to cater the best candidates with the best opportunities These professional development practices aims to promote the top 20 skills (respective to health, green, and digital jobs) so employees can be better prepared for future working opportunities The curriculum and prioritization of the top 20 skills are specifically curated to each economic sector, with certain skills specifically highlighted than others

GLOBAL SKILLS CENTER

Future of Work has arrived today amidst global disruptions i.e., health and climate crisis. This is exacerbated by shortage in key talents as the world move faster to achieve net zero, a healthier world and digitalization. The private sector need to play a bigger part in redoubling green, digital and/or health talents.

The Global Skills Center is an online platform that supports companies and organizations in growing these much-needed talents.

Launch an online platform to help companies to embed professional development and to upskill their employees

Promote top 20 priority skills within the Global Skills Center with respective skills curators

Joint commitment from member companies to play a role in shaping a future ready workforce

B20 TASK FORCE ON THE FUTURE OF WORK & EDUCATION

The nature of education and work has ineluctably changed over the last few decades, a shift that drastically accelerated during the pandemic

How do we best teach and equip our students and workforce going forward, to deal with the challenges of a changing world? What are the best practices to bring together offline and digital modes of delivery?

How do we best teach and equip our students and workforce going forward, to deal with the challenges of a changing world? What are the best practices to bring together offline and digital modes of delivery?

Schools need to find a way to balance online and offline learning and to equip not only students, but also the facilitators, to ensure a prepared and digitally adept future generation Meanwhile, workplaces and policymakers need to figure out new frameworks for upskilling and deploying workers.

The B20 Indonesia Taskforce on the Future of Work & Education seeks to bring together recommendations from stakeholders on optimizing online learning infrastructure, effective work policies, and accelerating entrepreneurship to drive productivity & growth
