Boyaca’s Battle

This event took place on August 7, 1819 at the Teatinos river crossing, in the vicinity of Tunja. The battle ends with the mass surrender of the royalist division and was the culmination of a 78-day campaign initiated from Venezuela by the Liberator Simón Bolívar to free New Granada. Curiosities

Teatinos.

The bridge that is currently built is not the same one in which the historical event occurred.
