Technology can change the world. Even that of gaming. Indeed, especially that of gaming. And Dt9, the performance marketing company, based in Malta, skilled in affiliations, where it holds a role of absolute leader in Italy and in other international markets, such as Spain and Latam, knows well it. Pontus Espe, chief technology officer of the group, explains the “power” of technology in the sector and possible future developments in this interview. What is your role in Dt9 and what are you working on? “I´m the chief technology officer of Dt9 Media. In my past experience I have been working with building highly scalable solutions in the cloud, everything from building the infrastructure needed to developing it with the latest technologies and business-minded approach. Dt9 has been around as an affiliate network for many years, but in the past year, the focus has shifted to creating a digital ecosystem for operators & affiliates. As we speak we are building up a team of talented developers in the heart of St Julians, with the goal of producing scalable SaaS solutions for the iGaming vertical. Our focus on building our products has been to use technologies that are simple but give us the security and scale we need, where we can in a fast phase deliver value to our partners. The infrastructure we solely build in Aws, utilizing microservice technologies, allows us to scale anywhere in the world”. What role does technology play today in the field of affiliation? Technology plays a big part in the affiliation business. In the end, affiliation is digital marketing and there are many proven ways to analyse and automate marketing efforts. What is key for us is also transparency towards our partners, allowing them to access their performance & algorithmic data with ease, but also integrity since we are not sharing the data with anyone else. For example, we calculate the player value, so it can be tracked and you can get notified based on the trends, this is one of the things that could be an indicator of how well our partners and our publishers are performing. Where are the next technological developments leading according to you? I believe that with the focus and efforts we are currently putting in place, we will soon become a recognized and trusted SaaS provider in the iGaming vertical. We strongly believe that we are building products that will help generate more revenue by using our toolset.
