If you like consistency and you like red Balancer cattle, then these two beauties are what you are looking for. These ladies weaned off their first calf dams at 220 days of age weighing 682 and 644 lbs. respectively. These heifers are ¾ red Gelbvieh, 3/16 Angus and 1/16 Polled Hereford. Both are sired by HFGC Hart Jack 35Z33, our resident herdsire. Their maternal grandsire is a son of Rupple Yukon, whom I purchased from Springflood Ranch. Both heifers were raised on momma’s milk, good fescue grass, and some high roughage concentrate feed to keep their young mommas in good breeding condition. All of the heifers were pasture exposed to our Homo Black, Homo Polled 75% Balancer herd sire DMP Fortune’s Tenderloin B047 (AMGV1286309) from 11/17/16 to 3/16/17. Calves are due 8/26/17 to 12/23/17. Tenderloin has 11 EPDs in the top 25% of the active Balancer sires and an additional five EPDs in the upper 50% of the breed. The heifers are enrolled in the AGA SmartSelect program. Their registration numbers are AMCX1359133 (58C), AMCX1359150 (61C), and AMCX1359161 (62C). AMCX1359133 (58C) has a 70# bull calf that was born on 9/26/17.
