Lillie's of Charleston’s story began in the early 1950s in Charleston, South Carolina with Dad and Grandma in the kitchen. Our father, the eldest, often started dinner before his parents returned from work, refining his skills during summers with Aunt Lillie. Many memorable Sunday dinners at Aunt Lillie’s house featured delicious dishes like barbecue rib tips, collard greens, and sweet potato pie, embodying a tradition of cooking with love.
In 1985, Dad introduced his beloved BBQ sauces to the public at his restaurant, The Rib Shack. He passed down the recipes to us, and now we share them with you in honor of Aunt Lillie. If our sauces touch your life even slightly as Aunt Lillie touched ours, we have succeeded.
