ArTIst's Statement After studying serigraphy and itaglio at UNC, my digital works now are a kind of 21st Century printmaking, exploring color, line, place, and especially variation. Like time travel stories or musical variations, I create multiple and sometimes vastly different compositions from common source material. My camera is a visual journal to document home, travel, ideas, and personal history. Some images remain primarily pictorial, others are captured essentially for color palettes used to create abstract compositions.
Flower Shop! For this recent group of floral and foliage digital abstracts, some of the source material was captured locally or on travels, but many were grown, arranged, and photographed from the family garden here in Chatham County. In celebration and support of National Arts in Education Week, all proceeds from Flower Shop! will benefit NHSAEF and the Northwood Arts Education program. About National Arts in Education Week Every year beginning the 2nd Sunday in September, National Arts in Education Week (AiE) celebrates the transformative powers of creative skills.
