

Coach Turk is a proud Smoky Hill High School 2005 graduate. He came to Grandview from Ridgeview Academy where he was the varsity assistant coach for five years and won two league championships. Before moving back to Colorado, Turk began his coaching career at his Alma Mater in St. Louis. He spent two years coaching at Webster University as an assistant coach and specialized in guard development. Turk is a Top-10 Record Holder and was inducted into the Webster University Hall of Fame in February 2019. He continued as a professional player in St. Louis, Chicago and Australia before returning as a coach. Turk graduated with a Bachelor’s in Political Science received a Master’s in English. He is currently a English teacher at Grandview High School.
Coach Turk, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, played for the farm teams of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds. He attended Rockmont College, now known as Colorado Christian University, where he also played basketball. Coach Turk holds a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Sociology.
Bringing over 30 years of coaching experience to Grandview High School, Coach Turk has coached at Rockmont College/Colorado Christian University, Aurora Central High School, and Smoky Hill High School. He has also successfully led various club traveling teams.
Coach Dexter Turk has been happily married to his wife, Rachel, for 40 years. He is the proud father of two sons, Ryan and Robby, and the grandfather of one grandson, Ryan D. Turk Jr., who is his pride and joy.
Marc Quinn, a 2002 graduate of Denver South High School, earned honorable mention honors in the Denver Prep League during his playing career. He went on to attend Jamestown College in North Dakota, where he played basketball for two years before transitioning into coaching. Marc began his coaching journey at Denver Waldorf Middle School, where he coached for several years. He later moved on to high school coaching, serving as an assistant coach at Littleton High School for one year and as the JV head coach at Mullen High School. Now in his first year at Grandview High School, Marc is thrilled to join the coaching staff and looks forward to mentoring and developing the players.
Matthew McDowell, a former Foreign Service Officer, brings a unique blend of public service, athletic achievement, and coaching expertise to his endeavors. A University of Colorado alumnus, Matthew competed in track and later earned an MBA from Regis University. His passion for sports extends beyond personal accomplishments, as he has served as a coach in football and basketball, inspiring athletes to reach their full potential. Additionally, he is a skilled tennis instructor, sharing his knowledge with players of all levels. With his background in diplomacy, athleticism, and mentorship, Matthew emphasizes discipline and teamwork in all he does. He resides in Denver and is a proud father of three children.
Aarius Grace, Freshman Head Coach, is a proud alumnus of the school and thrilled to return to his alma mater. In addition to coaching, he serves as part of the security team at Liberty Middle School, dedicating himself to protecting and supporting the Cherry Creek School District. With a deep passion for mentoring youth, Aarius also serves as a youth pastor, emphasizing accountability, discipline, determination, and unity—principles he instills in his players as they embody the “One Pack” philosophy. Committed to preparing his team for future success, he works tirelessly to help the freshman players develop the skills and mindset needed to advance to JV or varsity levels, while fostering a love for basketball and a sense of camaraderie.
