GRANDVIEW HIGH SCHOOL

COACHES MICHAEL ROGERS Varsity Head Coach

Coach Rogers, currently in his ninth year as the head coach at Grandview High School, has 28 years of coaching experience. Prior to his role at Grandview, he served as an assistant coach at East High School, contributing to a 5A State Championship win. Additionally, Rogers held the position of head coach at George Washington High School from 2006-2013, achieving a 108-62 record and leading the team to a state runner-up position in 2009 with a 27-2 record. His coaching career also includes successful stints at Highlands Ranch High School (State Champs in 2002), Littleton High School, and Mullen High School (State Runner-up in 1997). A graduate of Overland High School, Rogers played at Northeastern Jr. College and continued his basketball career at Western State College, earning a degree in business management.

RYAN TURK

Varsity Assistant Coach Coach Turk is a proud Smoky Hill High School 2005 graduate. He came to Grandview from Ridgeview Academy where he was the varsity assistant coach for five years and won two league championships.

Before moving back to Colorado, Turk began his coaching career at his Alma Mater in St. Louis. He spent two years coaching at Webster University as an assistant coach and specialized in guard development.

Turk is a Top-10 Record Holder and was inducted into the Webster University Hall of Fame in February 2019. He continued as a professional player in St. Louis, Chicago and Australia before returning as a coach. Turk graduated with a Bachelor’s in Political Science received a Master’s in English. He is currently a English teacher at Grandview High School.

COACHES ARLANDUS LOWE

Varsity Assistant Coach Bringing 50 years of coaching success at the high school level to the seasoned Grandview staff, Coach Lowe commenced his career in the 1970s in the Wichita, Kansas area. His coaching journey continued in Colorado, starting at Rampart High School in Colorado Springs. After a brief stint at Arapahoe High School, he assumed the role of head coach at Overland High School, leading the team for an impressive 24 years. Throughout his tenure, Coach Lowe secured four league championships and three sub-district championships, making five state tournament appearances and finishing as the runner-up in the 1989-1990 season (earning him the title of Rocky Mountain News High School Coach of the Year). Following his time at Overland, before joining Grandview, Coach Lowe contributed his expertise to various high school basketball programs across the Denver metro area.

BRIAN SUNDINE

Junior Varsity Head Coach Coach Sundine is currently in his ninth year as a Grandview High School basketball coach and his first year as a Grandview junior varsity head coach. After graduating from Littleton High School in 1985, he furthered his education and basketball career at Trinidad State Junior College, participating in the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1987. Sundine concluded his basketball journey at Regis University in 1990, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. In 1995, he achieved his Masters at the University of Colorado at Denver in Information and Learning Technologies, obtaining endorsement as a Library/Media Specialist.

COACHES DIRK MUNCY

Sophomore Head Coach Coach Muncy lettered in three sports in high school — baseball, basketball and football. He played two years of JUCO baseball at North Arkansas College, earning a scholarship to play at the University of Arkansas before ending his baseball career due to a knee injury.

Muncy has an Associate Degree in Business Administration. He started coaching when he was 19. Upon relocating to Illinois in 2009, he volunteered at a local elementary school, coaching 5th and 6th graders. By 2011, he progressed to coaching 7th and 8th graders, earning the title of co-coach of the year in 2013-14. Subsequently, in 2014, Muncy assumed leadership of the 17U AAU team, the SW Illinois Jets, and continued coaching until 2016.

JERRY CEJA, SR.

Freshman Head Coach Coach Ceja Sr. is entering his eighth year with the Wolves Basketball Program and brings over 20 years of coaching experience. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to attend Central Texas University. After 30 years, Ceja retired from the City of Aurora and worked for eight years at Grandview High School as a Para in S.A.S and Security. Ceja married his wife Angela 34 years ago and has two sons. His sons Dominique and Jerry Jr. are both Grandview High School graduates. Having served in the military previously, we express our gratitude for your service, Coach Ceja!
