Chamber Basics | About the Chamber

With 2020 in the rearview mirror, your Chamber of Commerce hit the ground running in 2021, full steam ahead! We all faced unprecedented times in 2020 and learned about ourselves, local businesses, and how to work together effectively to make the best of a situation out of our control.

Your Chamber of Commerce resumed regular events in January 2021 with the luncheon series, mixers, legislative breakfasts, the Home Show, and Governor’s luncheon. Planning for fiscal year 2021/2022 is in full swing.

We kicked off the summer with a 6-week concert series in partnership with Gillette Main Street and the Campbell County Cemetery District. Beginning on July 8 and running through August 17, the community was invited to 6 concerts on Tuesday evenings at Inspiration Gardens in the cemetery and 6 concerts on Thursday evenings on 3rd Street Plaza. The events were all family-friendly and free to attend. 2021 was the inaugural year of the concerts which will continue annually. The Chamber was pleased to partner on these events to bring free entertainment to our community and showcase our beautiful facilities.

Our Annual Awards Banquet will be held in November. We are excited to honor our local member businesses at this event as we celebrate their successes. We will continue our luncheon series September-December and January-April. Eggs & Issues, our legislative breakfast that takes place prior to the legislative session, and Legislative Wrap Up, which takes place after the session, will be held in January and March, respectively, in 2022.

Many of our committee meetings were held via Zoom in 2020 and we are excited to be able to meet face-to-face once again. The Chamber has five committees: the Energizers (the Chamber ambassadors), Northeast Wyoming Skilled Trades Association (formerly Northeast Wyoming Contractors Association or NEWCA), Gillette Area Leadership Institute (GALI) Steering Committee, Learn, Expand, Advance, and Develop (LEAD) Committee, and Business Advocacy (BAC) Committee. Each committee has a unique purpose and mission. If you are interested in learning more about these committees, please give us a call! The Chamber also continues to provide members various opportunities for low or no-cost advertising options such as Chamber Pak, Chamber Connection, and the Membership Directory and community map. There are also several shop local initiatives such as Shop Down to Christmas, Member to Member Discount program, and the Gillette Gold Gift Certificate program.

We are a small staff of 5 with a large group of volunteers behind us. We could not provide the programs and services without our volunteers, and we are grateful for each one.

If you have any questions about what the Chamber does (or does not) do, please call or stop by.
