Stephanie Bryce is deeply rooted in Gillette and in Gillette’s future.

Stephanie comes from a 6-generation ranching family. She has spent her career as a coal miner, realtor and business owner. She was instrumental in helping Applebee’s open in Gillette. She trained staff and promoted the area to visitors. She lets her customers know Gillette is the Energy Capital of the Nation.

During COVID Stephanie’s family helped clean downtown by sweeping sidewalks and cleaning gutters. Others followed her lead and helped get downtown Gillette spruced up. “One kind gesture spreads like wildfire”, according to Stephanie.

Stephanie’s community service includes Project Wishbone, Project Damage, Gillette Evening Rotary, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Real Estate Rookie Club, Mother’s Day Plant Class, and Homes to Fall in Love With.

In her spare time, Stephanie dreams big about helping Gillette grow in other small ways that have a big impact. Stephanie truly loves Gillette.

When Matt Walker started Powder River Construction his goal was to keep employees and business in Gillette. By keeping our dollars here and pushing to grow our community, Matt feels we can create a better place for future generations. Matt continually pushed the city and county to use locally sourced materials, construction practices, and methods that local contractors can perform and keep that money circulating in our own economy.

One of the largest contributions of Matt’s time commitment is given to the Penny Power Coalition.

From serving on the PAC to serving as the group’s chair, the improvements to Gillette, Campbell County, and Wright cannot begin to be measured, Matt is a firm supporter that for us to continue growing and diversifying we need to continue supporting our penny tax. Assisting with the Gillette College Foundation by serving on its board and helping push for its separation from Sheridan College to form an independent community college that can be led by business and industry in Campbell County to help train and educate our future work force. Matt is also a big believer in the image of our town. Matt often leads clean ups around town and is a pusher behind the annual main street cleanup.

Matt and Powder River Construction support the Downtown Thursday Night concerts put on by the Chamber and Main Street. Matt supplies the trailer that serves as the stage for the band. This year Matt improved the stage to make the concerts better for performers and fans. Thank you Matt, for loving Gillette.

Kevin Couch has been a pioneer of sports tourism for Campbell County, leading the effort to purchase 44,000 square feet of sport court flooring for use at the Camplex. Under Kevin’s direction this led to the creation of two large-scale indoor soccer tournaments and two basketball tournaments that all take place annually at the Camplex.

Kevin is the founder of the Matthew Sorenson Memorial non-profit that benefits families in medical crisis. The annual Matthew Sorenson Memorial Disc Golf Tournament takes place at the Sorenson Disc Golf course that Kevin helped design and build. In addition, he is also the co-founder of the Wyoming Youth Basketball Association which was formed to provide sporting opportunities to the youth in our community and they recently opened their own basketball gym. Kevin is very passionate about youth sports and has been a youth coach for the last twelve years. He has coached football, soccer, basketball, and little league. Routinely he has coached multiple teams at the same time, often coaching teams that just needed a coach to lead them. He has also been known to showcase his “radio voice” announcing at local sporting events or running halftime games at Gillette College Basketball games.

Kevin believes in blazing trails and leading by doing. Kevin loves Gillette, and we love Kevin!

On behalf of myself and the Board of Directors, I would like to thank our members for their support.

We are proud to have many long-time members who have been unwavering in their support.

Gillette and Campbell County are facing many challenges including lack of housing, lack of qualified workers, and, of course, changes in our economic landscape and way of life. The Chamber is at the table with community leaders at the City and County, working on solutions to these challenges. Change is never easy, but with our phenomenal leaders and involved community members, we will continue to pursue all options and opportunities that can lead to a better future for the community.

The Campbell County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to our members and finding ways to help businesses thrive. We work closely with Energy Capital Economic Development, Gillette Main Street, Visit Gillette Wright, the City of Gillette, the County, and the Town of Wright on various projects and initiatives to provide opportunities for collaborations and resource sharing. We also began offering low-cost training for employees twice per year that address common issues we are all facing such as mental health in the workplace, effective communication, and burnout, as well as training on new technologies such as using AI in the workplace.

Throughout the year, the Chamber offers opportunities for our members to interact with each other and with our local, state, and Federal elected officials. In Wyoming, our legislators and local elected officials are accessible and willing to listen and interact with the people who live and work in Wyoming. We are a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, and, through our membership, our Chamber members are also members of the US Chamber. Whenever possible, the regional representative from US Chamber attends meetings and luncheons to give us an update on what is happening in Washington, DC. It’s not serious all the time, though. We do have fun events offered frequently such as our monthly Business After Hours Mixers, our Speaker Series, ribbon cuttings, open houses, and the 6-week Downtown Thursday Night concert series.

The Chamber has programs that have been around for many years including the annual Home Show, in its 32nd year in 2025, and the Gillette Area Leadership Institute. In 2024, GALI graduated its 37th leadership class. We are proud to offer these programs and others that make an impact on our businesses and community.

As a Board of Directors and Chamber staff, we are committed to continuing to review existing programs and services to identify opportunities to expand and add both value and additional features to your membership. We invite your input on the projects and services we offer. We value your opinions and suggestions and are happy to continue to serve you, our members.

AVA Community Arts Center

AVA Community Art Center enriches lives by creating the bridge between the visual arts and our community. AVA is a non-profit visual arts community center located in Gillette, Wyoming that is home to a professional ceramics studio, a variety of instructor-led workshops exploring a spectrum of art mediums, two gallery spaces featuring unique monthly exhibitions and an extensive inventory of locally made artisan items available for purchase. AVA partners with many non-profit organizations in Campbell County and Wyoming to facilitate community outreach programs that provide art access and opportunities to all community members. AVA’s Staff and Executive Board support this vision with three pillars of creative impact in mind: Inspire, Connect, and Create.

There are two branches of the county library. One is in Gillette and the other in Wright. Both feature business resources and an extensive catalog including e-books and periodicals. A makerspace includes video and audio labs.

Activities include book discussions, public meeting rooms, computer labs and classes for residents to learn a variety of topics including money management and tech courses.

AVA was formally organized in 1998 by a group of local artists and citizens dedicated to helping make the visual arts more accessible to community members. In 1998, the founding group obtained Campbell County’s former Wyoming Department of Transportation building. With the help of grant writing, numerous fundraising activities, generous donations, and countless volunteer hours the facility was completely renovated and opened to the public in January 2003. AVA Community Art Center recently celebrated its 20-year milestone Anniversary, and since its opening has become a vital and integral part of northeastern Wyoming’s creative community.

Campbell County Parks and Recreation Campbell County has two Recreation Centers. One located in Gillette. One located in Wright. The Gillette location features a pool with a lazy river and two water slides, a weight room, basketball and racquetball courts, tanning beds, a 42-foot climbing wall and an additional 81,000 square foot field house with a six-lane 200-meter track.

The Recreation Center in Wright also features a pool with a lazy river, hot tub, weight room, workout facilities including a spinning studio and a 7,000 square foot gymnasium.

The public county golf course, Bell Nob, is an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole executive course in west Gillette. There are also two ice arenas, Spirit Hall, located inside the CAM-PLEX Wyoming Center and the Campbell County Ice Arena, located near downtown Gillette. Events such as curling, ice skating and hockey are enjoyed September thru April. Over a dozen county-administered parks cover the county including a skate park, multiple baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts and walking paths.

CAM-PLEX CAM-PLEX is the beating heart of Gillette’s flourishing cultural and event community. The largest multi-use facility in the country, Gillette’s CAM-PLEX features a performing arts theater, convention/exhibition hall, ballroom, a multipurpose pavilion, two indoor barns, rodeo grounds, covered stadium seating, and 1,780 RV sites with services. Campbell County Senior Center The center is located at 701 Stocktrail Ave. in Gillette. We provide services that assist individuals 60 years and over to remain independent in their own homes and community.

The Senior Center is a non-profit organization providing nutrition programs, transportation, activities, and in-home services as well as entertainment, exercise classes, games, art, and crafts. We also provide senior friendly health and educational programs. Medicare assistance, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, and so much more! Stop by and check us out.

City of Gillette Parks Division The City of Gillette oversees more than 661 acres of developed park land inside the city limits. Dalbey Memorial Park (locally known as the Fishing Lake) includes a disc golf course, and McManamen Park has a 1.5-mile paved walking trail around Burlington Lake. The Energy Capital Sports Complex is the premier sporting events facility in northeast Wyoming. It boasts four softball/baseball fields and three full-size synthetic turf fields with integral markings for football, soccer, rugby, and lacrosse. An allinclusive handicap-accessible playground and a splash pad are on the same grounds for all family members to enjoy between games.

The Rockpile Museum

Gillette Community College District

This history museum is located at 900 W. 2nd St. in Gillette. Permanent and changing exhibitions along with educational programming, performances, and events provide insight into the interesting past and present of the area. Exhibit subjects include historical Gillette, western and cowboy culture, homesteading, agriculture, railroad, military, business, industry, and more. The museum houses large collections of fossils, Native American artifacts, rifles, saddles, horse-drawn vehicles, and energy industry equipment. They also have four videos and a virtual reality experience related to the mining, transportation, and use of coal from the local mines. Find a schedule of events at rockpilemuseum.com

The Gillette Community College District (GCCD) is the newest community college district in the state of Wyoming. Established on August 17, 2021, GCCD is in the northeast corner of Wyoming serving Campbell County, the city of Gillette, and Town of Wright. Gillette College has a long-time presence with degree and certificate programs offered in the community since 1969.

Southern Campbell County Agricultural Complex The SCCAC is a multi-use facility located in Wright with both indoor and outdoor arenas. For those needing a place to keep their horses, there are long-term boarding pens available. “The Barn” hosts multiple equestrian-related events. It has also hosted dog and car shows. Available too, RV spaces with water and electric hook-ups with no sewer; overnight stalls for rent with water and electric.

Other Entertainment The Rockpile Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; Fees: adults - $10/groups of 5+ are $8 per person / seniors - $8 and students $5. The Museum is free for the following groups: Rockpile Museum Association members, children five and under, veterans and active-duty military, and SNAP/WIC beneficiaries.

Gillette has one bowling alley, a roller-skating rink, a movie theater, and a community theater group. There are several gyms and lots of fitness options as well as many places to shop for clothing and sporting goods.
