• (NEW) Flagstaff, Alberta and Area Homeschool Families
(Leader texts about 50 families with events. Many not on Facebook - word of mouth connecting with homeschoolers in real life and newcomers give permission to share cell numbers with Coordinator who sends out texts. Monthly gym days, gymnastics, swim lessons, homeschool choir and more. Everybody does their own homeschooling but comes together for events and socializing. Many homesteading, too. Christmas pageant. Book ClubWingfeather Saga - 7 or 8 families meet monthly / bimonthly - read 20 to 25 chapters a month before Book Club. (One meeting, the parents decorated the venue, and the kids were encouraged to do presentations, poems, etc. Dragon themed games, decorations and more. The kids loved it.) One mom prepares and asks the questions. Oldest kids in the core group are grade 5 - lots of early elementary kids. Very active group. Some Second-Generation homeschoolers are now leaders.
*Advice - Don’t be disappointed when an event doesn’t run. Sometimes life happens.
Pick field trips / events that are close and some farther away. A mixture works well. *Make sure to include the new families.)
