Gifted Tongues Magazine 2012
EDITORIAL
It all starts with you.
This edition of the gifted tongues magazine is so thrilling and really worth reading for as long as you really love and value mother Africa. The quest starts with you, your input and big thought. Lets venture into our own thought, African philosophy, and above all the real African feeling because it all starts with you not later on but now. Today is the day when we are meant to be who we really are supposed to be by doing what our forefathers anticipated of all time. Africa Being on the fore front of global transformation, its all begins with you and I thinking straight and Acting the thought because Africa does not deserve the best but it is the best and the most blessed of all. The transformation begins with your heart, mind and attitude towards Mother Africa and will eventually grow up straight to the whole world because this world will just be a better one with you doing what you are meant to do. With you the quest is not just a symbol but one that streamlines a thought and turns it into reality not with magic but the power to think, speak, write, read, and above all express it to the world. “Don’t let anybody stop you, because if it isn’t you then it’s nobody else”. Tell them that, “It’s so simple, get on board or get out of the way!” Timothy Kiprotich & Lucy Kyatuhaire

THE JOURNEY SHALL NOT KILL US….
life.
A Letter from the creator of the Gifted Tongues Magazine
This journey shall not kill us even though its been very hard and difficult, its been all about climbing mountains, coming down hills and walking all by ourselves through dark and lonely valleys in the middle of the rain and in the middle of the heat of the summer. With no one to cheer us and champion for this cause-because the people who should have been in our corner walked away after having crushed under the weight of the Glory. The journey shall not kill us because we have come mighty long way pushing on because we are pregnant with something ineffable-but all we know is that once it is born-they will be areal time difference and an impact. We have come a mighty long way to let up and to give up. And just in case you still doubting by now…. Just take a blink at me and I bet you a dollar ton a dime that by the time you are finished blinking at me. Africa shall be on the forefront of Global Transformation.
In the 18th century, there lived a prominent German academia by the names of proffessor Fredrich willheim Niche. He rose to prominence by coining the famous phrase”Whateverr does not kill you only makes you stronger”.A few years down the road,Anotonia Machado, the greatest of all spanish poets used the aforementioned phrase in writing the poem-Pathwalker”I am a pathwalker, a man walking without a way and without a direction, i make the way as i move, am a pathwalker a man walking all by myself, whatever doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.” On a few months ago i was jay-walking through the Bible Nation and suddenly i realized that the people who hanged Jesus on the cross were his doubters and haters. Who did not anticipate that hanging him on the cross way only setting him up for the utltimate showcase in fulfilling the purpose and assignment for his creation.JustHenceforth the authenticity and legitimacy of every child of promise and every child of covenant walking in the greatness of God seldom goes without being sealed by a crowd of haters and doubters. They is a crowd of haters and doubters in question about the level at which your gift stand pure and holy. They are sited in the ordinary terraces and up in the bleaches of life waiting for you to crush under the weight of the journey to your greatness. They are hoping that you fall by the way side because they re intimidated and offended by the prospect of your success. Without even considering your point of focus which is not on the elements that embody simple and cheap success in life but rather on the elements that embody a supernaturally successful 4

Africa: on the forefront of Global Transformation
Joseph Seymour and obviously, he lived in a time when a new era was being ushered into space, time and history, and this era was of such tremendous glory that it was going to shake-up the dynamics of the powers which stood at the time. The shake- up was going to be so sever to the extent that at the end of the shake-up n the Romans along with the Anglo-Saxons (the Europeans) were to be left without their supreme powers over the entire world. Because this power was preorchestrated to shift to the Americans,
The earth has always been known to be the heart of the entire universe-meaning that the earth is the epicenter of the universe’s desires and aspirations. Hence if that is what it is: then the earth has always been the workshop of the sovereign God Almighty, the workshop where the sovereign God Almighty pins together his way of imagination with the earthly way of metaphysical relation. So that He can be able to achieve his desired physical form which gives the earth tangible essence and purpose let alone meaning. In every era, the sovereign God Almighty has always had a specific continental location where He pitches his glorious workshop from where He begins to manifest his Glorify, victory, and Honor among the sons of men within a given era.
At this point in our time, it’s very pivotal to realize that every era is wrought of God and by God, and upon touching the face of the earth; it’s immediately drafted into space, and time consequently ushering in a new wave of divine Glory.
At this juncture we are in the year 2012, and surely and obviously we are living in a new era whose space, time, and historical drafting has began to ensue on the African continent because this is the continental location where the sovereign God Almighty Has centered His workshop on the earthly, Consequently the benefit of this leaving Africa on the forefront of Global Transformation.
In the early 1900s, they lived a man by the names of Bishop 6

The Uganda Nordics VIP Convention 2012
Between the 6th-8th of April 2012 a group of Nordic based Ugandans gathered together on board the Pearl of Scandinavian cruise boat in an effort to mark the opening of a new chapter in the Nordics. In solidarity with the past Ugandan conventions, in the US and the UK ,the grand vision behind this gathering was to-in the words of Mr. Peter ntende-to explore the economic opportunities within the Nordic Region that are relevant to the Uganda Diaspora in the Nordics and the Ugandan business community. By way of bringing Nordic business people that have an interest in investing or expanding their market in Uganda, the Uganda Diaspora in the Nordics and other Ugandans that are looking for Joint ventures, investors or innovative projects. The outcome should be new ventures with a Nordic touch based on o pportunity, expertise, innovation, research and accountability. During this memorable event, the Guest of Honor His Excellency Mr. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi delivered a key note address in line with Uganda’s past, present, and future business perspective. AN EPIC REALITY FEATURING AFRICA’S NEW CROP OF AGITATORS 16th October 2011 shall seldom go unnoticed in the intellectualspiritual annals of Africa. On that epic day, a young African Movement in the quest for Truth and Knowledge via a civilized, organized and intellectual platform of different viewpoint inregard to the critical issues of their day and time pulled together, and clashed full-throttle with the aim and objective of lifting their continent as they also determine the future of their world. African schools like Our Lady Queen of Africa also known as Rubaga Girls, Sumaya Girls, Bugema Adventist, Kibuli S.S, Kinaawa High , Mariam Girls High were all in attendance to make sure that history is recorded in a formation that is has never been recorded before at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel’s Katonga Hall. Like the occasion was, a grand finale/a climax of the Battle of Gifted Tongues 2011, Kibuli and Kinaawa tussled it out and at the end of the day, Kinaawa had emerged the victorious team of the day becoming the third school to claim the Battle of Gifted Tongues championship after schools like Vienna College in 2009, and Bugema Adventist in 2010.

AGITATORS AWARDS BEST LIFETIME ACHIEVER 2011 Dusabe Peter tells his story By the grace of God almighty I will be registering 21 years in the school of life come the 5th of June this very year. One of the incentives that have helped shape my life is the desire to live out my life the exact way God intended it to be lived and so as a result I do not take life for granted. F.B. Meyers remarks ‘’you do not test the resources of God until you attempt the impossible,’’ and I have learned something from this. In this era, many young people chicken out on attempting greater heights and are even afraid of stepping out to greater responsibilities like founding a charity organization, starting up a restaurant, a computer company, name it and they give lots of reasons. Personally I have chosen to live my youth differently. I have purposed to pursue and achieve greatness right from this moment and nothing is going to fail. Best P.L.E student in my primary school (2003), Uganda’s best German student (2008), 2nd best constructive speaker in the ASDL (2010), are some of the great things I have reaped from believing that I can make a difference in my youth and achieve great things not even those that have gone before me have tasted, and now the best life time achievement award in 2011. I am greatly indebted to God for the battle of gifted tongues for citing me out of a sea of remarkable achievers and acknowledge me for authoring ‘GOD’S HEART FOR MY GENERATION’ a book that was born out of conviction , fore worded by my dear friend and Pastor, Robert Kayanja and by God’s grace has inspired many, to the extent that all copies were sold out and now waiting for the 2nd print whose expenses were covered by a friend that God touched as a result of the inspiration that lay in the book. In the book I challenge the young people to rise up and tickle a revolution out of the misery and distortion our generation is lodged in, and to envision and pursue a generation that is determined to be thinkers of its own people and implement-ers of the great dreams and visions spoken of by our forefathers years ago. In the same book I also pencilled my grandfather’s biography as a lesson for our generation to always acknowledge and bring to light those individuals that have risked all they have for the good of society before they pass on to the other side of life. Personally I found the life of this one time mayor of Jinja (1st black mayor in the municipality), 1st President of Rotary club Jinja, among many accolades, so inspiring although he was not largely celebrated. Many of such men and women have remarkably built our society and need to be awarded for their work before they eventually move to the other side of life. I have also authored a Pacesetters manual, which carries our mandate to lead and inspire our generation. I believe every young person can achieve every goal and vision they have set provided they pay close heed to the instructions from the man above. Currently am the initiative director of Pacesetters Initiative for Africa, a non-profit organization that is committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in our generation, inspiring young people through giving, agitating the body of Christ world over as well as appreciating those individuals that have remarkably contributed positively to our society. We have done outreach to Kibuli SS where we donated Christian literature to the Christian fellowship and next on the menu is Nsambya Babies home come 26th May 2012, all in the name of setting the pace for our generation as far as responsibility, love, hope honesty and integrity are concerned in our generation. May God surely bless the works of Gifted tongues and together let us engage in the quest for truth for our generation.

The Quest
I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in time, history, and eternity. This is why, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant (Martin Luther King, Jr). Believe it or not, in the quest for knowledge and truth, it is as impossible as one to wait for a ship at the airport to speak and write a page without at least talking or writing about peace and justice, for they are as essential in life just as oxygen is. Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meaning can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart. Such is the moment I am presently experiencing. I experience this high and joyous moment not for myself alone but for those devotees of the quest for knowledge and truth who have moved so courageously against the ramparts of harsh and unbearable conditions and who in the process have acquired a new estimate of their own human worth. Many of whom are young and cultured. Others are middle aged and middle class. The majority are scholars and untutored. But they are all united in the quest and quiet conviction that it is better to search in dignity than to accept to perish in humiliation. These are the real heroes of the quest for almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better. (Martin Luther King, Jr). So they are the noble people for whom I accept to sit down with and talk as we exchange ideas. Modern man has brought this whole world to an awe-inspiring threshold of the future. He has reached new and astonishing peaks of scientific success. He has produced machines that think and instruments that peer into the unfathomable ranges of interstellar space. He has built gigantic bridges to span the seas and gargantuan buildings to kiss the skies. His airplanes and spaceships have dwarfed distance, placed time in chains, and carved highways through the stratosphere. Yet, in spite of these spectacular strides in science and technology, and still unlimited ones to come, something basic is missing. There is a sort of poverty of the spirit which stands in glaring contrast to our scientific and technological abundance. The richer we have become materially, the poorer we have become morally and spiritually. We have learned to fly the air like birds and swim the sea like fish, but we have not learned the simple art of living together as brothers. Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase, hence you and me ought to take a step of faith in the quest for truth and Knowledge in order to make mother Africa a better place and a heaven on earth for Africa .so that the African indigenous people be blessed and so shall be its later descendants given the quest, love and affection the gifted tongues are showing, the energy, thought and dedication put in. Africa and its descendant Black community are really a chosen community for in all spheres and aspects of life, at least a black man has a hand or more still initiates it with or without fear just as Martin Luther King Jr. stood and spoke out for the Black man and now Po’Auli has done it and taken it to a whole new level of involving as many people, companies, schools and the press. For No man is an Island entire of it’s self, every man is a piece of the continent, and any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls for: it tolls for thee. And the other thing is, I’m concerned about a better world. I’m concerned about justice; I’m concerned about brotherhood; I’m concerned about truth. (That’s right) And when one is concerned about that, he can never advocate violence. For through violence you may murder a murderer, but you can’t murder murder. (Yes) Through violence you may murder a liar, but you can’t establish truth. (That’s right) Through violence you may murder a hater, but you can’t murder hate through violence. (All right, that’s right) Darkness cannot put out darkness; only light can do that.

One on one with Budding CEO, McEdriss Elroy What inspires you in your business life? A Business consultant and an expert in tax, import and export, IT relations .McEdriss Elroy -CEO Melroy Group intimates with Timothy Kiprotich on business and his personal life
What was your growing up like?
Great! I grew up with both my parents who were so loving, caring and above all God fearing and good morals was a great priority.
How was your education?
I did BBA [Business Administration]with a Major in Accounting and a Minor in finance at Makerere University and now I’m pursuing a Masters with the same course at University of Warwick
Let’s talk Business your way.
I started small as early as College level where I was doing Consultancy work, I.T related work and Concept paper [2002] and all was with experience with employers which made me what I am now. Plenty of my ideas were as a result of ideas from friends and places I’ve been to.
I got most of my Inspiration as a kid from Newspapers and CNN; I was inspired by Successful Businessmen which made me keep my vision. The changing world which needs early adjustment, I have a goal to be what I want to be which has turned into a dream that I have to achieve. The trends of the world shape my goal because this world needs more producers than consumers. Best of all is the success of others like the richest people on earth including C.E.O’s which all lead to believe.
What do you think of the young?
They are really capable of several things which just requires them to keep focused on the big picture and they should have a goal and one which is realistic can be pursued. This is because “anyone can be successful for as long as you have a dream and can pursue it”.
What do you think of Mother Africa?
Africa is the place; it’s the most shinning and one that will shine always. Most investments are here, great businesses, a preserved environment; land full of minerals and it is the best with production factors. It will be the best given chance.
Political and Religious thought?
Am just a typical follower and not at any one point into politics because it’s all about business and God. Am a Christian and so much involved in the ministry and work of God!
Income?
Just enough even to tithe and give offertory in church.
Last words please!
“In business we grow, but just through exposure diversity and innovation”. All the best, thanks.
My Gifted Tongue
Without Love! You may be able to speak with the tongues of men and angels, You may have the eloquence of articulate speech; but if you have no love, it means nothing, You may have the gift of prophecy, You may have the gift of scientific prediction and understand the behavior of molecules, You may break into the storehouse of nature and bring forth many new insights, You may ascend to the heights of academic achievement so that you have all knowledge and You may boast of your great institutions of learning and the boundless extent of your degrees; But if you have no love, all of these mean absolutely nothing. You may even give your goods to feed the poor You may bestow great gifts to charity and You may tower high in philanthropy; but if you have no love, your charity means nothing. You may even give your body to be burned and die the death of a martyr, Your spilt blood may be a symbol of honor for generations yet unborn, and thousands may praise you as one of history’s greatest heroes, But if you have no love; your blood was spilt in vain. What I’m trying to get you to see is that a man may be self-centered in his self-denial and selfrighteous in his self-sacrifice. His generosity may feed his ego, and his piety may feed his pride. So without love, benevolence becomes egotism, and martyrdom becomes spiritual pride. “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear” (Martin Luther King, Jr.) Kaita Char les Kytah

Burney Emcee, End of the Weak Ambassador
Burney Emcee real names Walakira Richard is an ambassador of the End of the Weak in Uganda. Which is a Hip Hop culture improvement programme that is currently running the End of the Weak Emcee challenge across Uganda, he advocates for languages so he calls himself the Luga Flow Revolutionary Activist, Luga is a Swahili word that means language. The End of the Weak was started in Uganda by an American professional photographer Called Amy Hume who came to do some research about hip-hop in Uganda 2008. And after being Compelled by the amazing Hip-hop talent and enthusiasm in Uganda, Amy Hume started the End of the Weak project and in December 2008, the first ever Emcee challenge was organized during the Hip-Hop Summit.
Emcee Cyno-an energetic young Emcee- to represent Uganda at the Global End of the Weak challenge where Emcee from literally all over the world flowed on the microphone in their indigenous languages. While in Germany, Burney Emcee rubbed shoulders with the world’s finest Emcees like Rah Digger, and Damien Marley from the family of the legendary Bob Marley. According to Burney Emcee one of the milestones of the End of the Weak Movement has been taking the Emcee challenge to other regions of Uganda. With the aim of providing a great platform for many of Uganda’s talented Emcees. A part Emceeing, End of the weak Chapter Uganda is involved in community building projects such as sensitizing locals on the prevention of HIV/AIDS as well as doing free music performances.
This challenge brought together rappers and Emcees on a unified plat-from where they showcased their respective talents on the Mic .And at the end of the show/ challenge, a one M33 emerged winner of the first End of the Weak challenge. As an Emcee, Burney is inspired by people like Papa San, Babaluku, Saba Sabathe originators of term Luga flow vision. Globally, Burney Emcee has travelled to Germany along side his longtime compatriot
Like this year, Burney Emcee together with the End of the Weak crew in Uganda shall be involved in a number of music performance on during the course of Battle of Gifted Tongues 2012 clashes. In an effort to highlight the fact that Africa (a continent that has always been considered to be the weakest continent) is now intellectual and spiritually armed with enough ammunition to stand on the Global Platform- in order to transform the entire Global Community.
Yours sincerely Blackman Think of this not only as a message but as an expression of genuine feeling and a grieving torn apart heart of a Brother, A black man in his own home, his land and that his Ancestors live up to date. This is an experience of more than a million Africans. It’s a message to our friends, employers and tenants, both Africans and White men in Africa doing business no matter the scale. Your employees are human just as you are and deserve to be treated just as the rest of you, more still are the Land lords; tenants are human and deserve better treatment and better services. Employees deserve better wages just as the tenants deserve a normal rent fee. An employee and the employer can have a really fine, flowing and fit working relation. Personal experience with a European who rented our property for some time now after a forceful hostile tenancy agreement deliberately refused to meet his payments; when kindly asked to clear up his debt, he sued my family claiming lots of cash…. Africa is hospitable and really welcoming but misusing the kindness showed is like kicking mad into your guardian’s eye with intent. To my Brothers (Blacks), Black is Gold, let it shine. Black is beauty, let it be seen. Black is Superior, let it be felt. Black is Fun, let it be enjoyed…. Black is all a big mind and real good sense of humor can think off. Blessed is Africa and May the Almighty bless you more for the love, believe and care you are having for Mother Africa. Kalema Muhammad 16

HIV/AIDS, The Irking Yet Real Infection
By Baker Muyanja
As one would definitely be aware, AIDS is one of the most discussed diseases on planet earth since it started appearing as far back as the 1950’s. In Uganda, first cases of HIV/AIDS were noticed in late 70’s and severely in the 80’s with very limited number of AIDS victims opening up to speak and also go for medication which at that time was really expensive and majorly the rich minority would afford and accept. Thanks to Philly Bongole Lutaya (RIP) who first opened up about his status and ran a campaign against the disease and also sang songs that aided in his campaign. Despite the great campaign at that time, several people were both affected and infected hence costing many people their relatives, property and a wrecked up reputation to many family holds. Uganda has been named one of the best African states in the fight against the epidemic though the rate at which the disease is being spread from one person to another in recent times is at an ever increasing level., according to a recent survey by a group of HIV/AIDS researchers. This has been attributed due to high levels of poverty, said development of AIDS drug, Blood transfusion and increased witchcraft among others. Its quiet absurd that despite earning the big title of being among the biggest fighters of the epidemic such reasons can still be leading to bigger spread of the disease. As intellectuals, gifted tongues and great minds of the society and for the society, we realize that society needs us more than before in this struggle not to search for the truth but for the best solutions, ways forward and better options on how to curb this epidemic and save the mother Africa and the whole world a big deal of a disease, because saving the world is saving me and you, our children and our children’s children. Let’s begin by all going for the HIV/ AIDS test at the nearest test centers which will give more meaning and reason for an individual to emulate the Country’s intellectuals and biggest gift to help it raise to greater heights. Let’s reduce stigma by showing love and affection to both the affected and infected because it is the right thing to do. Then to those who already have the virus, its time to know that its not the end of the world and its best to live positively knowing its just a temptation that will pass sometime. Better still we can be and we are able to prevent the Viral disease and the transmission of HIV in so many simple ways that include; Use of condoms correctly and consistently for sexual intercourse, Abstain from sex completely, Avoid many sexual partners, Avoid sharing sharp instruments like razor blades, Avoid use of body piercing instruments, Be faithful to your one partner, Protect young girls from older men and boys from older women (Cross-Generational sex), Postpone sexual relations until marriage, Best of all is All males should accept and go for circumcision because it not only is hygienic but circumcised males have a low rate of acquiring HIV as compared to the uncircumcised. Budget Date Ideas By Lucy Kyatuhaire
Being in love and broke doesn’t have to kill the romance, it surely should create a better atmosphere for true and genuine love. Let’s try this out and truly you will know. You’ve found some one special- he/she makes you laugh and brighten your life. You even finish each other’s sentences or you’ve finally plucked up the courage to ask that cute class mate out on a date. Luckily you don’t need a lot of cash to spend; you need just the best quality time with that someone. Back to nature
with yummy snacks. Now all you need is a blanket and a sunny weather and you’re on your way to having a perfect date.
Pick a pretty place in your town or city for example centenary park gardens, botanical gardens or you can be crafty and invade a neighbor’s garden and go for a leisurely stroll. You’ll be relaxed and in a better state of mind to deploy your best flirting tactics. Visit a museum, art gallery, watch the stars together If your date is the arty type you can’t go wrong with a visit to an art gallery and of course nothing says romance more than staring up at the stars, that’s a great bet.
Celebs and cheap dates, it’s not only celebs who enjoy life’s expensive pleasures...
Games night out Who doesn’t have fun playing games such as monopoly, 30 seconds at home? It also brings out the competitive side in people, which will give you a sneak pick into what makes you a special person tick. Board games work better with at least four people so if you decide on this activity make it a double date.
Beach buddies They may be one of the wealthiest couples in the show biz but you often find Beyonce and jay-z chilling on the beach. The best about the beach is that it’s absolutely free!
Go window shopping
Sweet treat Justin Bieber bought his girl friend Selena Gomez a USD 2 (ugshs5000) ice cream on one of their first date along the first dates along the Santa Monica pier in California. Talk about a cheap round. Long walks
Malls, supermarkets, trade fares, have sprung everywhere, from those that offer yummy food to those selling hand crafted jeweler, clothes and other goodies. You can spend hours rummaging for cool staff or just browse. A great thing about markets is the vibe; it’s always lively and will surely keep your date entertained.
I for one enjoy it with ma boo. We love it, its relaxing and a perfect date at that. We get to work out, take pleasure in talking about us while holding hands and leave the rest to the on lookers. NB: I had forgotten ma boo is the swag celeb for starters.

The need for counseling is in schools and society today By Mrs. Matovu (Nsambya Home Care Counselor).
Counseling is a helping relationship between a professional counselor and a client to help the client generate options to help himself. Most students encounter challenges beyond the scope of teachers’ awareness at some point during their school careers. In experiencing such dilemmas, many students develop the adaptive coping skills that help them navigate life’s difficult experiences. Despite the natural coping ability that most students exhibit, their teachers can be ill-equipped to provide proper guidance counseling. In the way that students adapt, change and grow through the process of learning from outcomes and mistakes, guidance counselors should also assess their outcomes in order to better guide their students. Through the support and role-modeling that is provided by fully engaged parents, teachers, and other concerned adults, children and adolescents are able to learn how to manage challenges. Learning to deal with challenges empowers them to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. In some cases, a student’s adaptation to adult figures and role models appears to be a type of mirroring, though in other cases, it is more goal-oriented or self-directed (Scarborough and Luke, 2008). While some of these students may receive support from adults in their home and classroom environments, other students may not receive the quality or quantity of parental or classroom support they need. The lack of support prevents the achievement of academic and psychological stability (Fredericks, Blumenfeld, & Paris, 2004). These students may require additional support and intervention in order to support their optimal social, academic, and career development. The perception of counselors is now being studied and it is valuable to look at the ASCA National Model based on that real world insight (Dahir, Burnham & Stone, 2009). It appears that many times than not Counseling is important in schools on at a large extent and in the society today due to the following reasons. It Improves on academics: Counseling should be prioritized in order to improve the academic grades of students which may be hindered due to psychological problems. Sexual abuse: Counseling is very needful to people who have been sexual abused in order help them to generate options to help them selves and improve on their psychological welling being. The counselors also offer treatment information to sexually abused clients like post exposure prolepsis. Alcoholism problems: Counseling helps clients with alcoholic problems in schools and society hence solving family conflicts and other related effects and dangers of alcoholism to both in the school environment and society. Wait Patiently, For Your Comeback
David the famous Bible psalmist argues in the 40th psalm of his Book, “I waited patiently upon the Lord, He heard my voice and my cry, He pulled me out of the quicksand, He put a new song of praise in my mouth and set me up on secure ground. “Have you ever found your life at a place when you are sinking deep into a lifestyle that is so dreadful and when you try to pull yourself out of this lifestyle, the more it seemingly takes you in, You are trying to rise –up above your threat but the more the threat rises up above you to the extent that your effort is cut off and frozen. Sometimes you try screaming out for help, but even the very prospect of screaming out for help is discouraged at first thought because the only help you can get out of your scream won’t help your situation that much. In the face of life’s adversity every one needs help but not everyone gets help. Everyone does not get help because them who would have helped simply do not know how to help you. They do not know how to help you because the adversity that faces your life is too complex for people to understand why in the world are you that gifted of God, skilled and talented but yet struggle far below the people whose gifting, skill set and talent does not come into near comparison to yours.
Their contribution does not match up with your contribution in value and even in worth but yet still they keep on doing better than you are doing. How can life be so unfair and ungrateful …you Wonder in utter disbelief of yourself. But soon or later you are going to be doing better than you have ever imagined, you are going to be doing better than everyone who has been jeering you when you were trying to improve your situation. They jeered at you because they thought your situation will never be able to change. They jeered at you when they should have applauded you for being able to muster some strength while even at your weakest point in life. In order to make a difference, Nobody should have blamed you for not trying to make a difference because you were so weak to even try , but even when your muscles were weak you still had enough spiritual sense to fight your situation because you understood that you are never going to die and end up in the situation that you are in right now. Nobody was there to rub their hands on your shoulders While in the middle of your most trying moment in life: but give praise to God Almighty for his word-because it was his word which stood with you and besides you while you were going through that dreadful trial.
Everybody said you never going to make it, they said no help was going to come your way because you were far cut-off. They said you were never going to survive and come out to tell the story of your salvation in Christ. They said that you had been dealt a blow by the misfortunes of this world, they said all that they said in order to break your heart and your spirit and to also cut you off from the desires of your heart and the hope you have in God. However despite all that they said, the word of God Almighty decreed otherwise-the word said you were going to win. The word said you were going to survive in a remarkable, and a victorious, Honorable, and Gloriously way .The word said, ‘this is not the end of your story but rather the beginning of it .And your story shall not just be a common story that is read with excitement today and treated like a fickle beast tomorrow, but the story of your life which begins immediately after the good Lord your God has pulled you out of the quick-sand shall be an epic story.
Waiting patiently simply means to hold-up for something that you badly need and yet still manage to be free of anxiety, stress, and desperation. It’s one of the most difficult things to achieve most especially if you find out that your life is becoming worse by the passing of each day as you wait for that much needed help….. What is there to do when I have waited patiently upon the Lord’s help to pull me out of a situation that is seemingly overtaking me every day all the more, and it looks like no help is coming?. Wait and panic not. The key to avoid panic is by holding unto the word of God because whether you see it or not, hear it or not, the word of God is in it with you. The word of God keeps you afloat until the appointed day for God to pull you out of the quicksand of your life. Believe in the word of God and you will come out of it because it’s the word that pulls you out of it.

GOSPEL REVOLUTION
I think it’s high time we stopped ignoring the one thing that keeps us moving on each day. Stop wondering what am talking about, I know we are moved by different things but some of them take first places, like I can’t regret the fact that I was born, that means they move me each day though we must not forget the fact that they are human, hope you know what that means… We fight sometimes, Yeah….. And seriously that we even wonder how we became friends in the first place… But that ends and life goes on…. So I wonder why I even said ‘they move me each day,’… Because some days we are fighting… But here is this one thing we always want, always need, it determines our mood some times. We need it I the morning, all day and even when going to sleep…. Yeah, I mean exactly that, MUSIC,… The best friend we never fight with. Now talk about music, please for once put Radio and Coco Finger aside and admit the revolution. I also first argued but gave in when I for some reason found myself standing and seriously nodding ma head to the music that some crusaders played, yes I mean gospel. Seriously that’s one side of music I thought would never move me…. But today, I can’t even hold myself to the seat when Exodus’ Igwe’ hit is played in club, yes,! I know it gospel but trust me it’s played in club. Now that’s what am talking about… “THE REVOLUTION” -and believe me when I call it that. Gone are the days when there would be no watching TV on Sunday cause of the gospel they played, gone are those days when radios would be turned down on Sunday cause of the music. I can’t believe there are even gospel music shows I watch on TV now, like the Gospel exposed on NTV every Sunday. Now please no hard feelings, I just want you to compare some dance hall trucks with a jam like Igwe or Ganja man or tell me you wouldn’t nod your head if you heard ‘Abitteebikute’ playing somewhere. Its good to always appreciate cause that’s how we learn, I surrendered to gospel music when I watched a rock band do their gospel songs, if you have never tried listing to gospel, just give one truck only half a minute of your listening time, trust me you won’t turn it down.
