GIBBES MUSEUM OF ART

Located in the heart of the historic district, Charleston’s premier art museum offers a setting rich with history and charm. The Gibbes’ BeauxArts building boasts impressive architectural detailing and ample rooms with soaring ceilings. Exchange vows under the opulent Tiffanystyle art glass dome in the rotunda gallery, or host your soirée in the classical garden. This exceptional Charleston venue is perfect for locals and visitors alike, and will transform your private event into a one-of-a-kind celebration.

1ST FLOOR EVENT SPACE

Just beyond the front doors of the Gibbes, guests are welcomed by 11-foot ceilings, original crown molding, porcelain tile, and hardwood floors. The 1905 window and door openings add a touch of old Charleston to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality. The first floor includes reception and lecture halls, classrooms and studios, that are the quintessential Charleston spaces for any event, meeting, or celebration.

CLASSROOMS AND STUDIOS

Plan your next business meeting or group training session in one of our four studios or classrooms.

FELLOWS RECEPTION HALL & ALMEIDA LECTURE HALL

The reception hall offers a glass curtain wall providing views of the classical garden—the perfect backdrop for any private event. The exposed brick walls and rose marble flooring throughout exude a timeless elegance.

With 525 square feet of sleek and functional meeting space, complete with wireless internet and audio visual equipment, the lecture hall is a fresh departure from the ordinary.

In the main gallery you will experience history through American art dating back to the eighteenth century, and find yourself surrounded by neoclassical sculpture in the rotunda galleries.

THE CAMPBELL ROTUNDA

This 1,345 square foot sculpture hall lends itself to an intimate dinner setting or romantic wedding ceremony. The rotunda gallery is marked with its Tiffany-style art glass dome, porcelain tile floor, original light fixtures, and molding, and is truly the jewel of the Gibbes Museum.
