Split.Knit’s project explores the synergy between knitted membranes and active bending fiberglass rods as boundary supporting material. The innovative trajectory that this study examines in the field of knitted structures is the ability to be transformable according to users’ needs. This is accomplished through the “InLace” technique that is introduced as the essential transformable parameter. In this context, traditional knitting techniques are revisited and enhanced through contemporary computer-machine logics as a medium for the exploration of their space-making capacities.
