K im R. H arris with M. R oger H olland II Welcome Table: A Mass of Spirituals was originally published by GIA in 2012. This new concert edition expands the reach of this important work. With additional music and text as well as full orchestration, this version is not intended for liturgical use, but only for performance outside the celebration of the Roman Catholic Mass.

Welcome Table: A Mass of Spirituals
Kim R. Harris with M. Roger Holland II
The Mass setting was conceived as a liturgical setting of the text from The Roman Missal to facilitate the sung prayer of the people, using the melodies and meanings of the Negro Spiritual. This re-envisioned concert version allows the music to more easily transition to the concert stage. A mezzo-soprano soloist sings the parts for the cantor. A bass-baritone soloist sings the parts that would normally be sung by a priest in the liturgy. The lector’s parts are spoken by a narrator and there are still many opportunities for assembly participation. Wonderful concert repertoire any time of the year! Resurrection Hymns for Organ A rr . D aniel B urton
The three hymns in this collection, “Sing with All the Saints in Glory,” “Thine Is the Glory,” and “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today,” are among the most beloved of the Easter season, not only for their textual content but also for the strength of their musical settings. The organ compositions presented here are extended variations on these familiar melodies and can serve as prelude or postlude at the start Eastertide or during its fifty-day celebration. G-11362

T revor W eston This piece draws upon the musical language of water pieces by Liszt, Vierne, and Ravel, and brings this inspiration into the current day. Ideal as a recital piece, it would also serve well at liturgical events which call for something evocative. Listeners will simultaneously enjoy the harmonic colors while their ears are stretched a bit. Clear direction from the composer will helpfully assist performers in their preparation. L ouis V ierne E d . and A rr . A lan J. H ommerding and K yle R hoades Louis Vierne Edited and Arranged by
Alan J. Hommerding and Kyle Rhoades
“Carillon du Longpont” is among the most popular from Vierne’s collection 24 Pièces en style libre (pieces in free style). While there have been arrangements of large-scale organ works for brass quartet/quintet and organ—this edition was composed for modest forces, useful for festive occasions in places with limited resources.
The two-trumpet “overlay” is accessible for players of intermediate (or intermediate-plus) abilities. The organ part may be played on the manuals only, so this arrangement will be within reach for organists who are primarily pianists, or whose pedal technique is still developing. G-11347

If a 3-line title can be avoided by making the font size slightly smaller, go for it, especially if there are multiple titles, subtitles or an otherwise abundance of data. • It’s okay to overlay any screened design elements in with text, both header and body.

Lent and Holy Week
Gloriosi
T ony A lonso The first comprehensive resource of its kind, Gloriosi contains a treasure trove of ritual music that bridges linguistic, cultural, and musical differences for the liturgies of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. Weaving together familiar tunes and ancient chants with newly-composed pieces, Tony Alonso has meticulously crafted the music of Gloriosi to inspire the participation of a diverse assembly during these celebrations at the heart of the liturgical year. In addition to settings of all of the ritual texts found in the Roman Missal/Misal Romano for the Three Days, this collection contains settings of every prescribed psalm drawn from texts approved for liturgical use in English and in Spanish. Lent and Holy Week
Featuring Psalm 23 Psalm 23 for Organ
E urydice V. O sterman Psalm 23 is a three-part piece though each section can be played separately, if desired. The first section, “The Pastorale,” creates the impression of a calm lake in a peaceful green valley by using slow-moving chromatic mediants, meandering harmonies, and descending hexatonic scales. The second section, “The Valley of the Shadow of Death,” ensues with an ominous feeling created by a one-note ostinato in the pedal, an ascending hexatonic scale, fully diminished seventh chords, exploitation of the theme via superimposed major and augmented triads, and a split-third chord that brings that section to its climax. The final section, “Dwelling in the House of the Lord,” bursts into a toccata with the theme in the pedal, and is interspersed with an omnibus. The piece ends with a final statement of the motive in the pedal. G-11196

Communion Antiphons for the Easter Season C hristoph T ietze
To facilitate assembly participation and underscore the unity of the season, the music is identical for each Sunday. The texts are the Communion antiphons and psalms from the Graduale Romanum. The refrain and verse offer different key relationships, providing refreshing contrast yet moving effortlessly from one tonal center to the other. 000700 000702

Trilogy for Easter
I. Fanfare: Triumphant Entry / II. Soliloquy: From Gethsemane to the Tomb / III. Fantasia: The Resurrection E urydice V. O sterman
Trilogy for Easter was inspired by an earlier independent piece, Fantasia: The Resurrection published in the collection King of Kings: Organ Music of Black Composers, Past and Present—Volume 4. It eventually grew into a three-movement composition. “Fanfare: Triumphant Entry” begins with a trumpet blast representing the heralding of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, accompanied by the cries of “hallelujah” and “hosanna” from the crowd that showered his path with palm branches. “Soliloquy: From Gethsemane to the Tomb” is a slow piece that uses quartal/ quintal harmony, constant harmonic shifts, modal melodies, and scale passages in the pedal that represent the walk from site to site. “Toccata: The Resurrection” is a tonal piece. The first four notes in the pedal reference the first four notes of the “Fanfare,” and are developed into a melody that is repeated several times throughout the piece. G-11192

Toccata on VICTIMAE PASCHALI LAUDES
I ain Q uinn Welsh organist, conductor, and composer Iain Quinn, who is Assistant Professor of Organ at Florida State University, has created a magnificent toccata on the traditional Easter sequence. The dynamic fanfare that opens the piece is interspersed with a slower section. A spectacular way to announce the Resurrection! This medium-difficult toccata based on the tune victimae paschali laudes is a perfect addition to any concert organ repertoire. It can also be a dynamic postlude to worship. For this purpose, or other shorter contexts, the option is given to start the piece halfway through at the return of the "A" section. The virtuosity of this piece will display the power and grandeur of the king of instruments, while bringing praise and glory to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! G-7414
