May/June 2017

September/October 2015

A Message From Our Leader Over the past four years, Catskill Regional Medical Center has seen tremendous improvement in the way we deliver quality healthcare to our community. Every day, over 700 staff members go above and beyond to live up to our mission to improve the health of our community by providing exceptional healthcare. It is these efforts that continue to instill pride in our community and the leadership of Greater Hudson Valley Health System, including myself. Recognizing that CRMC is on a great trajectory, I am excited to announce my new and expanded role within the Greater Hudson Valley Health System as the President of the GHVHS Medical Group. While I will no longer be the Chief Executive Officer of Catskill Regional Medical Center, I will continue to serve as its Dr. Gerard Galarneau Chief Medical Officer. I am excited to announce that Jonathan Schiller has been promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer. In addition to a wealth of knowledge in program development and operational excellence, Jonathan brings many years of healthcare leadership experience to CRMC. Having led CRMC, I’ve gained a unique perspective on the health needs of this community. It is from that perspective that I will ensure the GHVHS Medical Group plays a vital role in helping the hospital to continue to live up to its mission. This Medical Group has great potential and will become the driving force for program leadership, high quality care and medical education for our health system. For our community members, it will ensure access to experienced physicians who will work collaboratively with CRMC leadership and front level staff. In addition, they will work alongside the people of Sullivan County on community initiatives that will improve the overall health of our community. As CRMC’s former CEO, I believe it is a special opportunity to lead the Medical Group at a critical juncture in making Sullivan County healthier. I've enjoyed working with everyone in my position as CEO and look forward to our continued working relationship and collaboration as President of our Medical Group. Thank you for all your support. I promise you will enjoy and work well with Jonathan. He is a great leader and a gentleman to do business with. Sincerely,

Gerard Galarneau, MD
