1. Cash Newberry (12), After suffering an injury in week three against Carthage Newberry stayed involved with the team, providing leadership, support and work on keeping team chemistry. Newberry was back on the field week seven against Ozark. “Being back on the field was definitely different than watching,” Newberry said. “But being in the right mentality and tempo prepared me to come back with a vengeance.”

9 9. Samari Pickett (11). Beyond Picketts success, Samari was a standout to all of the coaches in personal growth. Football has taught Samari to “keep going through your challenges and to not dwell on the bad plays because the next one will be even better.” Picketts positive attitude and mindset on and off the field combined have been what Pickett uses to create bonds and chemistry within the team. “The love for each other has pushed us to succeed so far this season,” Pickett said.

For Pickett, the highlight of the season was the team’s win during the Southside Showdown. “My favorite memory so far this season was beating Kickapoo because that’s our rivals and we have been wanting to do it for a while now and we finally executed,” Pickett said. “The team has grown in the run game and the pass game since

last year.”

7 8. Coach Frank Tristan. This season, the Falcons football team is motivated by one goal set by ,Head Coach Frank Tristan.

“Meeting with the incoming seniors last year, they set the goal of a district championship,” Tristan said.

“My goal has also always been to be in one of those games.”

The team’s success has been determined a lot during the half. For Tristan, the focus is making sure the team is ready to compete for all four quarters.

“During halftime, we like to replenish the guys to get ready to go out and compete again,” Tristan said.

“We don’t like to change much during halftime. We also like to think about what the other team will change during the time. It’s always about the mental game during halftime.”
