The aim of the studio 4 was to expose students to a very sensitive condition in which students learn how to deal with serious principles regarding to Hospital function.

Site Location

Hospitals are one of the most stressful spaces which require providing a calm environment which is suitable for such a zzplace. besides, considering natural light for every hospital ward’s rooms is necessary.

Main Problem

as we know, Hospitals are one of the most stressful spaces which require providing a calm environment for such a rich place. besides, considering natural light for every hospital ward’s rooms is necessary. Another important factor is to consider a separate entrance for the emergency department and the main entrance of the hospital, as well as a separate parking lot for staff and patients.

Zoning

Separating the Hospital into three main sections (patients-patient companions-staff and personnel) which are connected by green bridges and the central courtyard and voids.

Bridging

Creating a connection between the medical sections and the staff rest area by bridges surrounding the building was another idea.

Ability to expand and increase the number of floors and adding to the capacity of the hospital ward’s rooms according to the H form of the complex and spatial separation. The plan of the third floor is typically designed, which can be repeated in the required number of more floors.

Lounge/ Hospital Landscape

Since Hospitals are streesful spaces, they always require quality spaces for patients and their companions in order to rest and relieve their stress and negative energy, so it is essentially important to consider semi open spaces in order to provide fresh air and beautiful views of nature especially in the landscape.

Using the H form for the building design. The side sections are for medical functions and hospital wards and there is a connecting line between these two sections which is used for central green space.

Usage of the Virandil beam network as a megastructure for green bridges provides the stability of bridges while creating a passing possibility regarding the height of these mega beams(about 3 meters)without needing a supportive structure or columns.

Design Process

The main concept of this project was to provide natural light for all building spaces. In order to that, we created a huge void in the middle and on the left side of the building to create natural light for bedrooms and main spaces like living rooms. This also creates a semi-private space for residents.

One of the most important challenges of professional projects is to coordinate structural drawings and architectural drawings in order to reduce possible errors in the construction phase. for this purpose,firstly, the building structure is carefully modeled based on the structural drawings and theni have modeled the architectural drawings according to the structure in Revit.

The purpose of this project is to design a villa for long-term use based on the employer’s requirements. it is located in Golbahar city garden of Sadra which is a region divided and dedicated to the recreational villas. The employer has intended to merge two adjacent plots of the land which Part of the field includes the residential part and its landscaping which we were supposed to design, and the other part contains the tennis court and other spaces which were already designed.
