Sunshine Arabic Qirat Contest 2022 The Annual Sunshine Arabic Qirat Contest was held on 21st April at the Sunshine Auditorium and a good number of students from Sunshine Grammar School and Chittagong Sunshine College participated in the final round of this event. Thanks to the special guests (1) H.E. Assistant High Commissioner of India Dr. Ranjeev Ranjan (2) Renowned Philanthropist & Industrialist Mr. Sufi Mizanur Rahman and (3) Qari Sheikh Ahmed Bin Yousuf Al Azhari, for gracing the event. Over a few hundred students partici pated in the pre-final round and the best performers from each class were shortlisted to perform live in front of the judges. The judging panel was composed of internationally renowned Qari Sheikh Ahmed Yousuf Al Azhari and Mr. Sufi Mizanur Rahman. Following rounds of excellent Quranic recitations, the judges decided to award a ‘Certificate of Merit’ to the following SunshineSunshiners.Education also gives a note of thanks to the High Commission of India for their appreciable gesture of gifting us story books for the school library at this event.

Congratulations to Sunshine Alumni Qazi Hoque on his new journey as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Economics & Public Policy at the University of Adelaide, Australia.
The University of Adelaide is considered one of the best universities in the world (2022 U.S. News World Report Global Universities Rank # 66) and is one of the members of the elite ‘Group of Eight (Go8)’ academic institutions in Australia. Qazi completed his undergraduate degree in Bachelors of Economics (Honours) from the University of Adelaide with a First Class Honours and holds the unique credential of entering the PhD course in this prestigious institution without the need for a Master’s degree based on his extraordinary grades.
After completion of his PhD, he has worked in the role of an Economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia (Central Bank of Australia), Visiting Research er at the University of Oxford (Rus sell Group, UK) and as a Post doctoral Researcher at the University of Western Australia (Go8, Australia) before rejoining the University of Adelaide for the new role in January 2022.
