CHROMEBOOK 101

Purchasing Your Chromebook Cascia Hall is a college preparatory, liberal arts school and will not deviate from traditional learning but will “always make progress,” to quote St. Augustine, in best practices for our students. Students are required to purchase a Chromebook to use on a daily basis in class. We also strongly suggest purchasing a protection plan warranty (especially Middle School students). Although we don’t require a specific Chromebook, we do recommend these three Chromebooks. If you choose to select a different model, we encourage you to check reviews and features before purchasing.

Cascia Hall is a “Google School.” Our students maintain their school files on Google Drive, which is accessible from any internet-connected device. Students do not need to keep up with flash drives or have to log on to an on-campus computer to get what they need. Drive also makes document sharing very easy!

Also, Cascia email is driven by Gmail, which is very easy to use from Chromebooks as well as smartphones, tablets, and other devices.

Attend Chromebook Boot Camp Students that are new to Cascia Hall are required to attend one session of Chromebook Boot Camp. Students will understand myCascia and Google Drive, learn how to manage Google folders, and practice creating Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Students will also set up their student Google Calendar.
