Conquer any terrain with the Intrigue X range, featuring Maestro Suspension Technology. This adaptable rear suspension platform enhances your bike’s capabilities, ensuring you have the control, traction, comfort, and speed to tackle everything from fast-flowing trails to challenging descents. Experience the ultimate in performance, no matter where your adventure takes you.
Maestro’s near-vertical wheel path and linear spring curve allow the rear suspension to remain sensitive to both small and big impacts without “packing up” under rapid, successive hits or bottoming out from big hits. This results in better contact between your tires and the trail—improving traction, acceleration, cornering and braking.
From high-frequency trail vibrations to big-hit compressions, Maestro soaks up the full spectrum of trail impacts to give you a smoother ride over all types of terrain.
Whether you’re sprinting up a climb or hammering through a rock garden, Maestro performs consistently under pedaling power and doesn’t compromise e ffi ciency.
Even under full braking force, Maestro stays active, keeping your tires in contact with the trail and giving you better traction at all times.
1 .GROUND CONTROL
Maestro’s near-vertical wheel path and linear spring curve allow the rear suspension to remain sensitive to both small and big impacts without “packing up” under rapid, successive hits or bottoming out from big hits. This results in better contact between your tires and the trail, improving traction, acceleration, cornering and braking.
2 .FOUR, TWO, ONE
Maestro utilizes four strategically positioned pivot points (the four white circles) and two linkages that all work to create a singl e fl oating pivot point (the larger circle). This singl e fl oating pivot point improves pedaling e ffi ciency by counteracting pedaling forces that would otherwise create suspension compression (squatting) or pedal kickpack (bobbing).
3.FULLY CONNECTED
Maestro’s upper rocker arms feature trunnion shock mounts, which produce a lower leverage ratio on rear shock compression for better pedaling and braking e ffi ciency. This con figuration also allows engineers to create bikes with shorter chainstays, improving their climbing capabilities and agility.
4 .LOWER CENTER OF GRAVITY
Maestro’s moving parts and components, including the linkages, shock, pivots and hardware, are centralized within the frameset. This results in a lower center of gravity, which helps improve the bike’s overall handling on the trail.
5.LIGHTER AND STRONG
A state of the art, high-pressure molding process is used to produce the Advanced Forged Composite upper rocker arm. This makes it lighter, sti ff er and stronger than aluminum to help boost the overall performance of your bike.
6.SMOOTH OPERATOR
Double-sealed pivot bearings provide long-term, smooth functioning suspension articulation.
7.PRECISE TRACKING
A single-piece rear swingarm (no chainstay or seatstay pivots) provides the ultimate in rear-end sti ff ness for precise tracking over rough terrain.
Take a journey deep inside the kinematics (suspension analysis) of Maestro Suspension Technology on the Intrigue X range. You’ll learn about its unique wheel path, linear leverage ratio, anti-rise characteristics and anti-squat performance—each specifically engineered to bring out the very best from your mountain bike experience.
When compressing from an impact, the trajectory of the swingarm and the direction of the rear wheel dictate how a suspension system performs. Maestro’s nearly vertical, steeparcing wheel path is the key to its activity, efficiency and independence. A linear shock ratio helps keep suspension travel smooth at its initial stroke and progressive towards the end of its stroke thanks to the nature of air compression. The result is one of the secrets of Maestro’s “bottomless” suspension feel over the full spectrum of trail impacts.
Many suspension designs suffer poor performance under rear brake activation. When applied, the rear disc brake can sometimes either “drive” or “lift” a suspension swingarm to extension or compression—both undesirable traits when riding through tricky terrain. Because of Maestro’s calculated neutral floating pivot point, the system remains neutral to brake input— creating outstanding suspension performance. The result is perfectly balanced suspension on the roughest descents.
Anti-squat refers to suspension performance under pedaling force. Most suspension designs add a certain amount of antisquat to stabilize suspension movement while pedaling. Too much anti-squat, and suspension completely locks out under pedaling. Not enough, and suspension will wastefully bounce up and down under acceleration. Getting the balance right is critical, so Maestro utilizes a higher level of anti-squat through the initial 50% of travel—then regresses to less anti-squat through the second-half of its travel. This results in an efficient pedaling platform when riding smooth terrain, but allows for uninhibited suspension travel on larger hits.
The flip chip – Maestro 3 allows riders to quickly adjust the geometry of select Maestro-equipped mountain bikes to better suit riding conditions and rear-wheel size choice (29- or 27.5-inch).
The adjustment affcts the head tube angle, seat tube angle, and bottom bracket height using eccentric flip chip hardware located on the upper rocker arm of the rear suspension.
This technology provides three positions (high, mid, and low) using two diffrent flip chips—a combination high/low chip or a dedicated midposition chip.
When this dual-positio n fl ip chip is installed in the high position, the frame’s head tube and seat tube angles become steeper and the bottom bracket height is elevated. This fl ip chip position allows the rider to run either a 27.5-inch or 29-inch rear wheel.
When this single-positio n fl ip chip is installed, the frame’s head tube and seat tube angles are positioned in a neutral stance, and the bottom bracket height is at its mid-height point. This fl ip chip allows the rider to run either a 27.5-inch or 29-inch rear wheel.
When this dual-positio n fl ip chip is installed in the low position, the frame’s head tube and seat tube angles become slacker, and the bottom bracket height is lowered. It is recommended that the rider use the factory-equipped rear wheel in this position.
*Colorway not carried in USA lineup
1 .HIGH POSITION
A steeper head tube angle makes the bike handle quicker and a steeper seat tube angle places the rider in a more aggressive climbing position. Also, a higher bottom bracket improves pedal clearance, allowing riders to pedal through rocky and rooty terrain with fewer pedal strikes. The high position is recommended for tighter, more technical terrain. Choose a 29-inch rear wheel for improved roll-over capabilities, or a 27.5-inch wheel for optimal rear-end agility.
2 .MID POSITION
A more neutral head tube angle makes the bike handle more predictably and a “mid” seat tube angle places the rider in a neutral climbing position. Also, a midheight bottom bracket balances pedal clearance with a slightly lower center of gravity. The mid position is recommended for a general mix of both faster/ smoother and slower/more technical terrain. Choose a 29-inch rear wheel for improved roll-over capabilities, or a 27.5-inch wheel for optimal rear-end agility.
3 .LOW POSITION
A slacker head tube angle gives the bike more stability at speed and increased confi dence on steeper terrain by placing the front wheel a bit farther out in front of the rider. Additionally, a lower bottom bracket height lowers the center of gravity of the bike and rider, making it more stable at high speeds. The low position is ideal for faster, more open terrain. A 29-inch wheel improves roll-over capabilities at higher speeds, and a 27.5-inch wheel optimizes rear-end agility.

*Colorway not carried in USA Line-up
This new three-position adjustable headset cup system allows you to fine-tune the cockpit dimensions and geometry of select Liv mountain bikes to best suit your riding style and terrain.
Utilizing two diffrent “chips”, or headset cups, the system places the headset/reach in either a -5mm (short), 0mm (mid), or +5mm (long) off set position. The modular system consists of two positioning cups (short/long and mid), which can be removed and swapped to achieve either a short, mid or long reach frame geometry.
1 .SHORT POSITION
When the dual position cup is in the short (-5mm) position, the headset/reach is 5mm closer to the rider. In this position, the bike is better suited for slower, more technical, climbing-oriented conditions.
2 .MID POSITION
When the mid position cup (0mm) is installed, the headset/reach is neutral to the rider. In this position, the bike sits in its sweet spot and is equally suited for climbing, descending, and technical conditions.
3 .LONG POSITION
When the dual position cup is in the long (+5mm) position, the headset/reach is 5mm farther from the rider. In this position, the bike is better suited for faster, less technical, downhill-oriented conditions. In addition, this long position offers an ideal reach adjustment when changing from a 29-inch wheel to a 27.5-inch in the rear for a mixed-wheel con figuration
SHORT POSITION
A shorter reach results in a quicker, more agile ride quality. This is a great option when tighter, more turn-inducing terrain exists. A reduced headset position translates into a shorter reach, front/center and wheelbase measurements. This combination translates into a more upright riding posture and quicker, more nimble handling.
MID POSITION
A neutral reach results in well-balanced handling characteristics. Ideal for equal parts climbing and descending, as well as technical trail features, this orientation is a great option for general riding conditions. A zero-offset headset position translates into a neutral reach, front/center and wheelbase measurements. This combination translates into a balanced riding posture and well-behaved handling— both up and down the trail.
LONG POSITION
A longer reach results in more stable ride characteristics. This is a great option for improved downhill performance on rougher terrain. An increased headset position translates into a longer reach, front/center and wheelbase measurements. This combination translates into a more stretched-out riding posture and offers increased stability in turns and overall handling.
