IAs the new year arrives, it can bring a myriad of emotions for us all. Some of us may be eager to enjoy dreaming and planning the endless possibilities that a crisp clean calendar may hold. Others of us may feel as if we barely dragged 2024 across the finish line and don’t want to warmly welcome any more time right now. Or at least until we catch our breath and feel steady to go again. Whatever end of the spectrum or place in between you may find yourself, just know IT IS OK…it is ok to be wherever you are in your journey.

I recently had the pleasure of being introduced to a lady who personified such wisdom and grace. Upon getting to know her more in depth, I discovered that she not only carries the spirit of the mentor inside of her that invested into her life, but she lives his mantra every single day. He has since gone on to Heaven but his legacy lives on in her and others he influenced. His message is quoted below and I hope that we all glean something from it as we field the people around us. Friends, family, co-workers, loved ones and strangers…may we all strive to make a 1% difference each day. Whether in ourselves or in the life of someone else.

"Above all, I would like everyone to be kind. To yourselves and to one another. Assume good intent.

Strive for good. Forgive. And no matter what, love anyway.”

SOUTHERN HARDWARE SELLS LAWN MOWERS WHILE THEIR BANK IMPROVES THE FINANCIAL LANDSCAPE

Southern Hardware sells outdoor power equipment as well as tools, building materials and hay and feed. But owner Jamie Souter still borrows from his neighbor. That’s because his store is located right next door to PrimeSouth Bank. The business his father Jimmy Souter started in 1987 needed lenders that cut down on wait time and obstacles. PrimeSouth’s Danny Maddox and Curtis Tumlin have grown their relationship with Jamie the way he and his father grew their business. By catering to the customer. Jamie says, “Anything we need they handle it. We’ve banked with PrimeSouth since we’ve been in business.” Just like customers say about Southern Hardware, Jamie says he counts on PrimeSouth for “everything I need under the sun.”
