After a long holiday season of remembering and being thankful, we can now begin to reimagine the course ahead. Hope abounds! It’s time to anticipate all the things that a new year may hold for us. What if? What could be? And it can feel like there are no limits to what is possible!

I love a fresh start. A new beginning. The chance to chart new territory. As a visionary at heart, I find a certain adventure in the unknown.

An excitement that wonders in all of the possibilities.

Speaking of launching new endeavors, I’d like to introduce my friend, Will Howell, with WillPower Ties. Will is near and dear to my heart. Will has powered through physical and intellectual disabilities with a huge smile on his face! His enthusiasm for EVERYONE he meets is genuine. Recently, he began pioneering a new online shop selling ties.

I hope and pray his story will inspire you to find purpose and passion in your own life.

Thank you to so many of you who have warmly welcomed me to Tocal! This is a fabulous family to join! If you are new to the Golden Isles, we welcome you! If you are embarking on a new endeavor, we applaud you. If you are adjusting to a new normal, we encourage you.

The holidays are over, but that doesn’t mean there is a shortage of entertaining and fun events in these cooler months in The Golden Isles. We welcome back the Snowbirds to our area and want to provide the very best in Winter living to them.

Island Treasures On Jekyll Island during the months of January and February. This is a twomonth long event held on each day, where Island Treasures are hidden around the island for lucky guests to find and keep. These treasures are blown glass floats designed by artists from across the country. Each one is beautiful and unique in design. When you find one, you are encouraged to take it to the Jekyll Island Visitors Center on the causeway, where they will register it and give you a certificate of authenticity and a biography of the artist that designed the one you found. The Polar Bear Plunge January 4th, 11:30 a.m. thru 12 p.m. At Neptune Park, St. Simons Island Pier Village. For those wishing to participate and get your freeze on, costumes are welcomed, and fun is mandated. Also, a thermos of coffee or hot chocolate wouldn’t be a bad idea.

A Taste of Glynn January 19th, King and Prince Hotel, 5 p.m thru 8 p.m. Ticket are $45 in advance, $60 at door. Advance tickets available online at ATasteofGlynn.com, along with detailed information of participating chefs and restaurants. At this event, you can taste some of the finest in culinary excellence provided by our local merchants. We put up our cuisine with that of any region in the country. Free Parking and Shuttle Service are available at Massengale Park from 3:30 p.m. thru 8 p.m.

St. Simons Island Storytelling Festival February 14th at 4 p.m. to February 16th at 12 p.m. at Epworth by the Sea Strickland Auditorium. This is a very popular event that features five of the most entertaining storytellers you will ever hear. Christ Church Tour of Homes March 21st, for tickets and specific information go to ChristChurchTourofHomes.org or call 912-638-8683. This is an all-day tour, and includes stops at historical sites and selected homes on St. Simons Island and Sea Island. The Christ Church Parish House will serve as Tour Headquarters and will be open all day for light refreshments and restroom breaks. Spring Arts & Crafts Markets March 21st & 22nd, 10 a.m. thru 5 p.m. both days. Held at Postell Park at the St. Simons Pier Village. This is one of the year’s largest Arts and Crafts Shows on the island, and features many of the best artists and craftsmen in the southeast region. Admission is free.

Georgia Sea Turtle Center Turtle Crawl Races March 14th & 15th on Jekyll Island at The Great Dunes Beach Park.

First Friday in Downtown Brunswick On the first Friday of every month, downtown Brunswick will host an event from 5 p.m. thru 8 p.m., where all the shops, galleries, and restaurants will stay open late and serve wine and snacks.
