Less than 3 weeks after winning the Discovery Channel's Biker Build-Off in 2006, Klock Werks found themselves at the Bonneville Salt Flats with their winning WFB (Way Fast Bagger) and Laura Klock as the pilot. In the first 2 passes she set a National Land Speed Record. However, even with the best suspension installed, the bike experienced an unsettling lift from the front end with increasing speeds and that’s when Klock Werks set out to design a windshield that would make the bike more stable at high speeds.

Brian kept it simple and started by holding his arm out the window while driving home from Bonneville, testing airflow with his hand held in different positions to figure out how to add downforce. From there a prototype was designed, and the Flare™ Windshield was born. After extensive planning and testing, including an incredible opportunity to test the design in Nascar Country at the A2 Wind Tunnel in Mooresville, NC, the Flare™ Windshield is now available to you!

The Klock Werks Flare™ Windshield was originally developed out of a need for stability at high speeds while racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats. This innovative and patented design features “hips” on the sides that re-route air to create downforce on the front of the bike while the “flip” at the top kicks the air up, sending it back as clean, less turbulent air
For the best performance, Klock Werks recommends you choose a Flare™ size that is comfortably lower than your line of sight, but not lower than your chin.
Sit on your motorcycle, and get comfortable. Try to sit like you do when you ride the majority of the time. Remember, the longer we ride the more we tend to slouch which may impact your needed Flare™ size.
Place a yard stick horizontally above your top lip. Hold it level (parallel to the ground), and have your buddy measure vertically from the bottom edge up, in the center of the existing windshield, to determine your Flare™ Windshield size.

Factory well-nuts are prone to failure after a few uses. Klock Werks Flare™ Nuts are manufactured out of a superior material and have a revolutionary design, including a metal washer molded into the flange to prevent the well-nut from pushing through the windshield mounting hole and ending up inside your fairing. In addition, we’ve added a superior brass threaded insert that tightens the well-nut, but allows for continuous installation and removal. The kit reuses stock ignition switch and key; ignition switch mount replaces the horn mount and requires horn relocation. Factory well-nuts are prone to failure after a few uses. Klock Werks Flare™ Nuts are manufactured out of a superior material and have a revolutionary design, including a metal washer molded into the flange to prevent the well-nut from pushing through the windshield mounting hole and ending up inside your fairing. In addition, we’ve added a superior brass threaded insert that tightens the well-nut, but allows for continuous installation and removal. These advantages ensure these are the last set of well-nuts you will need!
