INFANTS In Preschool, the students have been working hard from home, logging on to Firefly and having fun with learning! Each day our students have completed a task set by the teacher and include; number problems, recognising letters and shapes, dancing, storytime and yoga to name just a few. The students are so enthusiastic and have returned some fantastic work, which is making us all smile. We appreciate this is a challenging time for parents and want to thank you all for your continued support and positive feedback.

JUNIORS E-learning in Year 3! In writing we have begun our new ‘Literacy Tree’ book focus which is ‘The Minpins’ by Roald Dahl. We have been using our knowledge of noun phrases and conjunctions to write exciting character descriptions and have used our ever expanding vocabulary to retell of key events of the text.
In IPC we have started a new topic – ‘Gateways to the World’. The children have been exploring their favourite destinations and describing the country they went to and what they got up to there! Here’s one showing Mahmoud’s trip to fabulous Turkey!
The story discusses danger and what ‘The Minpins’ are allowed and not allowed to do, so we decided to come up with our own rules to stay safe when at home and in school. Here is an example of a fantastic piece of writing from Perla in 3MG!
In Maths, we have been recapping our place value and number skills as well as practising how to add and subtract using the column method! Haya Al Thani in 3MG sent in a great video explaining how she subtracted 3 digit by 3 digit numbers mentally. Well done Haya!

SECONDARY ICT – April 2020 The last six weeks have been very different and challenging, as teachers and students have been working from home. Our students have made us proud by showing great determination to complete their studies, whilst based at home, and they should be commended for this. In ICT students have created and handed in some great work, which has been highly appreciated.
