WHOLE SCHOOL We’ve had another great week across the school. We received parent feedback on school communication and were very delighted with the response. Please have a look at the responses below. We have also received your comments and suggestions. We will be developing our communication systems over the coming weeks and taking into consideration all the feedback given. We have also created a parent manual to support you with any questions you may have for the new school schedules. Blended Learning - Parent Manual

INFANTS In the first couple of weeks, Reception students have been learning about themselves through the 'All About Me' topic. Students have enjoyed building relationships with teachers and friendships with peers by playing a variety of 'getting to know you' games. During this time, the students have participated in many activities which has helped them to understand class rules, routines and the importance of social distancing. Here are some snapshots of the activities from Reception classes.
We have also learnt to work in our ‘bubbles’ and how to stay safe at school. Some children have been working at home with their parents and our new online teacher, Miss Akhtar and her friend Lucy.

JUNIORS It is so good to be back in school! There has been a lot of changes in the way we work together with one of the biggest changes being wearing masks while learning. Even though it has been challenging we have found it quite difficult to see each other’s emotions which is very important in this strange time. Year 4 have been using ‘Emotional desk charts’ where each child has their own chart to signal to the teacher how they are feeling at any point in the day. We are happy most of the time, but there are occasions where we were feeling uncertain or anxious. By using these, we have been able to talk about our emotions straight away. All we have to do is move the face to the centre that represents how we are feeling in that moment. We are glad to see that Year 4 have remained positive about their return to school and we can’t wait to learn more as the year goes on. Year 4.

SECONDARY Dear Parents, Welcome back on behalf of the entire Secondary Mathematics Department. We hope you and your children had a fantastic break. We were eagerly looking forward to having the children back in school after the lockdown; it was such a delight to have them return in good spirits. This term we are using Blended Learning, and so far pupils have responded really well and are completing all the work in school and online. However, this has only been possible due to the excellent effort of the pupils, the unquestionable dedication of the teachers who teach them, the solid departmental foundations (of which the department prides itself in) and, above all, the endless efforts of the parents. We recognise the efforts made by the parents throughout their child’s school life, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting us.
As the new academic year starts, the department is eager to follow on from the success of previous years and we hope that, with your support, the department will continue to grow and improve as time goes on. We hope and pray for a great new academic year for you and your children, and we hope that our efforts as a department will make you proud.
