Gervasi Vineyard has transformed from one family’s dream to a destination for lovers of fine wine, spirits, luxury accommodations, tranquil spa services, and dining experiences. The moment you pass under the arched getaway, you are transported to an Italian village that feels miles away from the Canton, Ohio neighborhood Gervasi calls home.
BREAKING GROUND
2009
Gervasi visionary, Ted Swaldo, got to work on a 55-acre estate consisting of an overgrown tree farm and a historic barn in need of major renovations. His dream was to open a premier winery and leave a legacy for his family.
GRAND OPENING
Spring 2010
Gervasi Vineyard opened with a small winery located on the lower level of the historic barn. In addition to winemaking, the upscale, restored barn is the home of an Italian Bistro serving gourmet dishes to complement the wines.
EXPANSION
Summer 2010
Based on requests from local patrons, the property expanded to accommodate weddings, meetings, and events with a Tuscaninspired open-air pavilion, nestled between the vineyard and a six-acre lake. In addition, The Piazza outdoor dining patio was added behind The Bistro to service guests in a more casual al fresco setting.
THE VILLAS
2011
Six Villas with a total of 24 luxury suites were added to the property to accommodate wedding guests and tourists wishing to stay overnight. The Villa Grande was built to complement The Villas, offering a check-in location and large indoor ballroom with adjacent outdoor Veranda for smaller weddings and events. In addition, The Farmhouse, the original homestead built circa 1820, became available for overnight stays.

THE WINERY MOVES
2013
Due to significant growth, a new state-of-the-art winery was built in a contemporary industrial-looking restaurant named The Crush House. The venue offers a more casual fare for lunch and dinner, plus a full service bar for dining and wine tastings.
THE STILL HOUSE
2018
The winery resort expanded its audience reach with the addition of a distillery, capitalizing on the growing craft cocktail movement. The Still House serves as both a coffeehouse and swanky cocktail lounge and includes a heated outdoor cigar lounge.
THE CASA
2019
The luxury boutique hotel added 24 spacious suites to Gervasi, doubling the previous overnight capacity. Featuring the same high-end amenities as The Villas, The Casa solidified Gervasi's distinction as a destination resort.
THE MARKETPLACE EXPANSION
2022
The Marketplace, boutique gift store, added 2,000 square feet to better accommodate the rapidly growing Gervasi wine and spirits collection. The Marketplace offers unique brands, making it a place for guests to purchase a memento as well as offering a beautiful boutique for the general public.
THE CAVE AND SPA
2023
Gervasi completed their latest ambitious project, The Cave and Spa. The Cave offers a wine-tasting experience like no other, with an intimate tasting room, ticketed tours, and events. Enjoy a dedicated venue that is all about the wine. The Spa, open to both overnight guests and the public offers an extensive selection of treatments including massages, facials, body treatments, and much more.

Experience a piece of history with a stay in the property’s original farmhouse circa 1830. Completely restored and modernized, this charming home sleeps up to 8 guests with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, sitting room, and modern full kitchen. The spacious wrap-around porch provides a relaxing retreat with stunning views of the spring-fed lake.
