Program Notes

The Harrison Chamber Singers is the most elite choral ensemble at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. For this concert, they are directed by Megan Schuitema and student teacher Alexis Jade Thames.

Despite the circumstances, the Singers rehearsed music over Zoom for four months preparing for performances - some completely virtual, and some in a hybrid setting. Our repertoire is selected from pieces begun in spring of 2020 prior to the abrupt end of a semester, and some completely virtually rehearsed this fall.

Throughout it all, the Singers have shown a drive to share beautiful music. These pieces spoke to us about loss, change, perseverance, and finding our home.

We are grateful to our Harrison community, principal Ashlynn Campbell, Cobb County Choral Supervisor Joseph Woodruff, and every clinician, friend, and family member who have supported us.
