Have you heard about the Eliminate Project? The Kiwanis Family has partnered with UNICEF in a giant effort to rid the world of maternal/neonatal tetanus. With only $1.80, the life of a mother and her child can be saved from this deadly but preventable disease which kills one baby every nine minutes. By 2015, we hope to raise $110 million to eliminate MNT from the face of the world.

How can you help? For the month of October, all proceeds from “Trick-orTreat for UNICEF” goes towards the Eliminate Project. Your club can request donation boxes to put out on your campus. Just visit eliminateproject.org/trickortreat to order your boxes and learn more about the Eliminate Project!

Starting on October 1st, the Georgia District of CKI is starting a new incentive program. As if being able to pie your favorite board member wasn’t enough, right? This year, the club with the most money donated to the Eliminate Project by March 31, 2014, will receive a pizza party or ice cream social of their choosing and a personal visit from me, your District Governor!

I hope that you and your clubs will embrace this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of mothers and babies around the world.

Secretary Guess what time of the year it is... it is FMR Time!!!! FMR or Fall Membership Retreat is an annual event that the Georgia District of Circle K hosts. Every year Circle K members from all over Georgia come to Covington, Georgia to enjoy a weekend full of workshops, fellowship, and service. This year a few of the exciting workshops are how to make a website, how to do a successful fundraiser, and what the Eliminate project is.

This year the event will be November 1-3, 2013. The cost of the event is $85 and registrations need to be postmarked by October 11, 2013. Late Registrations will be accepted with a $25 late fee and no guarantee of a t-shirt. Registration forms can be found at http:// www.georgiacirclek.org/fmr.html.

I look forward to FMR every year because it is a relaxed and fun weekend. I enjoy meeting people from other clubs and I love hearing about other projects that clubs are doing. I hope to see all you there!  Elizabeth Ludlow

by N r due The Membership Update Center (MUC) is s ove mb are open for 2013-14 roster updates and club fee/dues er 1 st! payments. It is not too late for you to submit an updated faculty or Kiwanis advisor to Kiwanis International. Using your access to the membership data, you can identify what information is missing and what is incorrect. Click here to view a document explaining the break down of the new International Fee amounts and the new amount per member for District Dues. You can download this MUC tutorial made by the International IT team. The video outlines how to access the site, update membership and officers and submit dues payments.

Please remember that each individual who is provided access to the MUC and membership data is responsible for all actions performed with this access.

Thus, they are also responsible for the consequences of not keeping the password secure and private. As leaders, we ask that you stress this responsibility in all students and adults who have been provided access.

The Fall Kronicle is coming out soon, and I am very happy to share what all of you are doing with the district! This issue will highlight a lot of club building, including chartering and reactivation, which has been going on throughout the state of Georgia. We’re growing our Circle K family! We’ve also got a ton of exciting events coming up—Social Service Tour, Fall Membership Retreat, K-Family Day— that you can learn more about in the Kronicle.

That being said, I could use some of your help. I need a LOT of pictures to show off all of your wonderful service projects and events. If you have any photos of your club’s members, projects, fellowship, or other events that you’d like featured in the Kronicle please let me know! Christine has been doing a miraculous job as Lieutenant Governor. She’s sent out countless emails, updated contact information, sent out division newsletters, assisted with the CKI workshop at Kiwanis DCON, and has been helping to charter and reactivate the clubs in the Mountains Division. With Berry College’s charter in the mail and the work she has been doing with the University of Georgia Circle K and Athens Kiwanis, our district will soon have 2 new clubs to join Circle K. She’s also a dedicated member to her home club, seeing the transition of club officers and helping plan a interclub camping trip for Circle K clubs in the Metro and Mountains divisions.
