Alumni Association Interclub reporting MUC updating International Convention

I hope everyone is having an awesome summer! If your club has not received a copy of the Club Monthly Report Form yet, that means your club has not turned in officer information. Please visit georgiacirclek.org and click on the Club Monthly Report Form tab and request the form. In order to receive the form you have to turn in officer information.

On another note, the Circle K International Board has changed the way that Interclubs are counted. The way Interclubs are to be counted now is in number of hours at the event and the total number of events. Here is a sample event that includes Kiwanis Family Relations and Interclub examples.

Treasurer Although it is summer, there are a few things that you will need to do before you can effectively pay your club’s dues in the fall. You will need to log into the membership update center (MUC) and remove any members of your club that have graduated. Also, you will need to remove any members that are no longer members of your club. You can start this process and can pay your dues starting October 1, 2013. Please do not add any new members until then.

Kinks with the MUC are still happening, but Circle K International hopes to have them all worked out before October 1st. Bulletin Editor Summertime is here, and for CKI that means it’s almost time for ICON! ICON, or International Convention, is when members from the entire organization come together to celebrate the year, award our most outstanding clubs and members, and elect the new International Board. This year, the convention will be hosted in Vancouver, Canada! The ‘con will take place June 26-30, 2013, also coinciding with the Kiwanian’s International Convention.

International Convention is very important in all of the tenets of our organization.

Circle K’ers from all over the globe are able to share stories and come together in fellowship. The Large Scale Service Project preceding ICON, workshops with service partners, and other projects allow us to better fulfill our real purpose in serving others. And Circle K’ers can learn new skills in workshops and discover leadership opportunities in running for office and representing the club and the district in elections and in big decisions at the international level.

I’m telling you a bit about ICON because I’ve experienced how awesome it is. Last year, my club had a blast in New Orleans at ICON 2012. My friends and I were given the complete privilege to connect with the locals through a small service project, providing soap and other materials to Covenant House, a shelter for homeless youth. We were so excited to represent Georgia in the House of Delegates, making our voices heard in constitutional changes and International Board elections.

Simi Oludare is doing a great job as Metro Division Lt. Governor!

He has maintained his relationship with the clubs in his division and assisted the Governor in guiding GA CKI Alumni, promoted awesome service project opportunities to his clubs over Facebook and the GA CKI Listserv, had the most service hours reported for his division in April, created a Metro Division Facebook Group, started planning club recruitment drives and officer training, and he was the very first board member to turn in a Monthly Report Form (MRF) and even turned in two!
