Go Beyond will build a new gymnasium beside the Nicholson Center to replace the Middle Gym and provide additional space for wrestling and competitive cheer teams.
Wrestling with Space Constraints Patrick Morris’ dad Michael is one of the parents who helped George Walton’s wrestling team become the most successful in the school’s history. It wasn’t easy. For the first two months of the season, the team practiced in the baseball batting cages. But once the baseball season began, the team had to move to the Lower Gym and vie for space with the cheer team, majorettes, and both boys’ and girls’ youth basketball teams. Michael discovered that practice time became even more scarce when the school’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace was underway and rehearsals were held on the Lower Gym stage.
