Wedding 101

Our wedding 101’s to consider at the beginning stages of your wedding planning journey— The Date Secure your date as you will be surprised how far in advance venues and suppliers are booked.

It pays to be pencilled into their calendars as soon as possible.

Georgeous tip— March and November are the busiest months for weddings. Some say the best month for flowers is September. The rainiest month (in Melbourne) is October.

The Venue

We are absolutely spoilt! We are here to help you source the perfect venue for you and your guests.

That B word... Budget

Certainly not the most exciting part of the wedding planning experience is establishing a budget. Part of our job is to assist with the budget management. We like to have an indication to ensure your expectations are met and we propose nothing out of scope.

The Guest list

A very rough guest list and indication of numbers will dictate your venue selection so it helps to have an idea from the beginning.

Onsite hours are in addition to this fee. Pre and Post wedding reception celebrations are at an additional fee.

As well as offering our event design services, Georgeous offers a full event management service. Your dedicated account manager will guide you through each step of the planning process with meticulous attention to detail and constant contact and support.

Philly loves Will

Set on a private property, on the outskirts of Geelong, the brief for Philly and Will’s celebration was; fun, colour, stars and a confetti bomb of a party.

A sea of white chairs and an incredible floral installation by the Cecilia Fox team, set the scene for what was to follow. Once it was official, pre-dinner drinks took place amongst the gum trees in the lounge, complete with a Ute laden in floral & neon sign, food stations, live music and flowing Champagne. The final reveal came when guests were welcomed into the Sperry Tent, colourful chairs, cattle tag place cards, and glitter perspex table numbers, all circling around a light up dance floor and stage.

Emily loves Andrew

Amongst the gumtrees on a private property in Cobaw, we worked with Emily, Andrew and their families to bring this scene to life. The day began in a natural collective of trees. Fresh white Daisies and Queen Anne’s Lace were planted sporadically at the base of white chairs and benches. The space was later transformed into a pre-dinner drinks setting, before guests made their way to the main tent. Set against a breathtaking bushland backdrop, a large rope and pole tent provided shelter over a sea of black bentwood chairs, paired with long tables topped with: grey (white for the bridal) linen, fresh blooms in Melbourne made ceramic vessels, flickering candle light and custom designed menus. A shared meal was served as the sun went down over a village of 60 glamping tents in the distance. A DJ and band played into the early hours of the morning, while 3 large fire pits provided a moments calm away from the dance floor.

Julia loves Sam

In the childhood home of the bride we transformed a tennis court into a moody dinner scene.

A base of black and deep green. This April wedding popped with jewel tones, gold touches and a pink glowing neon sign.

A balloons installation, colour matched cocktails and a timeline of the bride and grooms story, welcomed guests down the drive way. Once inside bright blooms took over the tables, overhead table numbers cast colourful shadows on the tables and a sea of fairly lights above began to glow as the sunset on incoming guests, soon to enjoy a night of dancing beneath the stars.

Amelia loves Charlie

A crisp white scene is brought to life with hints of soft blues and dusty pinks with a healthy overlay of fluffy cloud like hydrangeas and wandering fragrant jasmine vine.

A mis match of table shapes and napkin colours are set upon soft white carpet, creating a dining room longing to be filled with fun, love, laughter and dancing set to the beat of ambient flickering candle light and the twinkle of the stars above.

Fortyfivedownstairs was transformed into a beautifully ambient space, filled to the brim with dancing candle light, soft clouds of gypsophila and wonderfully delicious food.

This evening was a true journey. Guests were taken from the clean bright, art filled gallery space, with a free flowing Champagne fountain, to a dimly lit dinner scene below with fresh white linens, classic bentwood chairs, tables dusted with fluffy white gypsophila and a dancefloor to rival all.

We spent our first week of March 2015 on this stunning property in Main Ridge.

The private residence hosted their outdoor ceremony on the lawn, followed by a classic marquee celebration of whites and soft blues just a short stroll away.

Ying loves Michael

After finding their way up a plush red carpet lining the staircase of the Melbourne Town Hall, guests were welcomed into pre-dinner drinks in the elegant black and white marble tiled foyer. On opening the majestic brass doors, all were invited into a regal moody dinner scene set amongst man made indoor gardens, of full grown palms and oriental pots. Overhead a canopy installation of tropical vine and oversized Queensland palm, cast jungle shadows over 8 long tables complete with small floral masterpieces and classic white and deep navy stationery.

Catered by Movida and entertained by international DJ guests from a Moroccan inspired lounge, set in one of Melbourne’s grandest halls, this was truly a spectacular site to behold.

Dusty Millenial Pink was undeniably the beautifully softening feature of this design set in the Royal Botanic Gardens of Melbourne.

A beautiful scene of rambling floral above invited guests into a marquee, where flickering candlelight and a delicious feast wooed them into the night amongst the trees.

Jane loves Ian

Tucked away on a private property in the Dandenong Ranges, this beautiful lunch into evening gathering was a celebration steeped in rich family togetherness.

Pops of peach danced through a beautiful outdoor setting with a custom engraved timber table top, stationery finished with deep green calligraphy and blooms that flowed onto the table from terracotta vessels.

A secret pop up theatre complete with tickets, film times and a candy bar was a hit, while on the other side of the property a younger crowd wove their magic at the floral crown station.

This ensured everybody enjoyed a surprise on the day.

The garden installation come venue space, Hellenic Museum provided the perfect home for this beautiful day time celebration of love, laughter and a coming together of two families in a beautiful leafy setting.

Fresh Australian natives featured perfectly throughout, on a base of white clean lines and natural timber finishes. Hits of metallic throughout the lounge added a touch of evening glamour, while the beautiful gowns worn that day sparkled brilliantly in the sunshine.

We spent a week at the beautiful Mornington Peninsula on the most spectacular private property. Rebecca and Stuart knew from the beginning they wanted a magical wedding their guests would never forget.

The picturesque private property setting was the perfect backdrop for this couple to say their I Do’s. From the breathtaking 30 meter pool, to the gigantic hedges and the secret rose garden, the journey never ended.

Steph loves Christo

The morning of Steph and Christo’s wedding was a perfect temperature of 25 degrees, which soon soared to 36 degrees by mid afternoon. As unpredictable as Melbourne weather can be, a freak thunderstorm hit as the ceremony was about to begin. But nothing could dampen this romance. Incredible floral by Katie Marx.
