ABOUT Established in 1909, George Junior Republic (GJR) is the parent company to affiliates including GJR in Indiana, Preventative Aftercare, and GJR in Pennsylvania. Through a diverse continuum of care, services are provided across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana.

George Junior Republic in Indiana (GJR in IN) was incorporated in 1992. The program aims to provide therapeutic care to at-risk youth in the least restrictive environment appropriate to their needs and safety.

Many children and young adults can be maintained in their homes with adequate support systems and a structured routine. To further this philosophy, GJR in IN offers multiple community-based and home-based services to youth and families involved with the Department of Child Services and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention in 46 Indiana counties.

FAMILY PRESERVATION SERVICES

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

This service is designed for families who have experienced a substantiated incident of abuse and/or neglect or for delinquency cases where DCS and/or a probation officer believes the child(ren) can remain in the home with their caregiver(s) if appropriate services to the family are provided.

Interventions used in programing depend identified specific individual or family needs and may include:

OLDER YOUTH SERVICES (OYS) Older Youth Services (OYS) Case Managers implement Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care practices with the youth and their families. The main goal is to prepare each youth for their most successful level of independent living upon discharge from services.

WITHIN 48 HOURS OF ACCEPTANCE INTO THE PROGRM GJR in IN will contact the family to schedule the first face-to-face visit within the first 72 hours.

Collaboration with the Family Case Manager (FCM) and the probation officer regarding needs, goals, and plan of treatment and safety

INTERVENTIONS Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Fostering Success Motivational Interviewing Seeking Safety Self-Management and Recovery Facilitator Training (SMART) Strengthening Family Coping Resources Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practical Parenting Group

COMPREHENSIVE HOME-BASED SERVICES This program provides intensive services to maintain youth with their families and/or provide reunification support. Treatment and services are adaptive, including therapy, transportation support, supervised parenting time, case management, etc.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

FIRST SEVEN DAYS OF PROGRAMMING

SERVICES PROVIDED Onboarding - a time for youth and families to learn about OYS services, Independent living, career and educational assessments, Individualized education and housing plans.

A youth-centered learning plan with SMART Goals Teambuilding and life skills Participation in a holiday and graduation event Moving Forward conference Better Together - a support group of peers for youth engagement WeCovery - SMART Recovery programming

Intake interview with family Safety check of the living environment Completing assessments and budget Initial evaluation (including, but not limited to, strengths, needs, and recommended services) will be sent to the referring agency

MONTHLY Weekly safety checks and assistance resolving safety concerns Case Management (CM) and ongoing therapy utilizing Evidence-Based Treatment (EBT) Collaboration with the referring agency Supervision Monthly reporting Budgeting Support in increasing protective factors Treatment planning Safety planning

Diagnostic services include psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children and adolescents, as well as psychological evaluations for adults whose families are involved with the Department of Child Services and/or Juvenile Probation.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL Addiction programming supports families involved with the Department of Child Services and Juvenile Probation by offering substance use assessments plus group and individual therapy based on the identified level of need.

CREDENTIALED SEXUALLY ABUSIVE YOUTH CLINICIANS (CSAYC) Clinicians with this credential work with children who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors and their families. Services include risk assessment, safety planning, and treatment.
