To Whom it May Concern,
Reference Letter
I am writing to recommend Jackson Adams as he seeks opportunities through the co-op program at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture.
As the founder and partner of Danaie Experience Design, Inc., I directly managed Jackson during his 3-month work term with various project teams. We were pleased to have Jackson join our studio, where he played a key role in delivering a Basis of Design package for Toronto Pearson Airport and supporting us with ongoing projects in design development and construction documentation. His strong technical skills and quick learning allowed him to adapt seamlessly to project teams and become proficient in using Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, AutoCAD, and the Adobe Suite.
Throughout his time with us, Jackson demonstrated strong enthusiasm and responsibility for his work. He consistently looked for ways to enhance his skills and contribute to our team’s success. Skilled in visualizing and communicating design concepts through 3D models, renderings, and diagrams, he provided valuable direction to both our clients and design team.
Jackson’s proactive approach and attention to detail helped him build strong working relationships not only with our design team at DEXD but also with our collaborators at HOK. We were impressed by his ability to adapt to new tasks, streamline workflow with creative ideas, and communicate effectively, all while being open to feedback.
It was a pleasure to have Jackson in our studio, and I believe he would be a valuable addition to any organization. Please feel free to contact me if you need more information regarding Jackson or his work at DEXD!
Kind Regards,
Gelare Danaie Founder & President

CURRICULUM VITAE
Hi, I’m Jackson.
I’m a third-year student at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture.
In architecture, simplicity and complexity don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Every design comes from a complex web of considerations, but at its core lies a central concept. As the design process blossoms, simple ideas branch into complex narratives that create the built environment and define its relationship with the inhabitants. I believe the study of demographics, context, typology, and temporality can provide the hands that guide these narratives to fruition.

ROCKWAY GOLF CLUB
Fortin
Project Brief:
To address the demand for collective ownership in combating housing alienation, we proposed a large-scale form of community organisation titled “Rockway Golf Club”. Situated in Rockway Golf Course in Kitchener, Ontario, we used Stanley Thompson’s golf course architecture as a propelling permanence, developing our urban strategy by building along the fringe of the fairway, allowing the tree-lined rough to interconnect and frame meaningful public spaces.
Made in collaboration with Samira El Badaui, Grace Luong, and Nathan Man
For this studio, we were tasked with speculating large-scale urban development to achieve Build Now’s 10,000 affordable homes initiative in Waterloo Region. In a group of 13, we were assigned Rockway Golf Course, a large public golf course adjacent to Kitchener’s urban growth center. Our master plan strategy began with placing circulation routes along the fairways, preserving a majority of existing trees in the process.
Plan in Collaboration
The surrounding wooded area, the rough, serves as the pedestrian network housing and connecting our buildings. The threshold between these two landscapes, the fringe, serves as the prime area for building placement. After this exercise, our group (blue) split off to further develop our strategy. Our scope was to design the mixed use corridor along the main collector that bisects our site, including some adjacent blocks.

Project Brief:
A symbol of the Tremiti Islands, the lighthouse at Punta del Diavolo serves two important purposes: functional and symbolic. When approaching the design of a boutique hotel in a building of such significance, the appreciation of these purposes becomes the selling point. Inspired by this concept, the project uses the dichotomy of functional and symbolic as its guiding principle, providing the opportunity for two distinct experiences for those who choose to embrace them.

THE FOURTH WALL
Program: Performing Arts Location: French River, Ontario Courses: 2B Design Studio (2023) Personnel: Scott Sorli
Project Brief:
Located on the French River in Northern Ontario, The Third Wall is a creative compound for artists to write, rehearse, record, and recite new material. The calm, quiet ambiance of this scenic location has great potential to inspire those who create art. The placement of program on the site is heavily dependent on how sound interacts with the natural granite forms of the Canadian shield, separating public and private space based on volume.

in collaboration with Alex Li
Project Brief:
Situated along the grand river between The Grand River Lofts and Riverfront Condominiums, CHΔNGES is a residential complex which aims to connect and bridge the gap between different demographics while promoting integration into the Galt community. The unique shape and symmetry of each building creates a thoughtfully developed courtyard, an important public space to foster and encourage social-ecological connections.
Made
The first level of the front building opens the complex to the public through retail services as well as a walk-in clinic. Intergenerational families and also call this building their home as they reside in the spacious yet affordable co-living units above. A series of modular housing units are available to provide emergency transitional housing to women and children who are integrated with the
intergenerational families though physical building connections. A separate and sheltered building in the back is designated student housing and hosts a youth drop-in center. The unique shape and symmetry of each building creates a thoughtfully developed courtyard, an important public space to foster and encourage socialecological connections.
