The Mystery of One Written by Justin Gaynor With tremendous wonder the two came together, this is the mystery of one. The whole purpose of what we do in life is to cause love to issue from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faithfulness. Reciprocal, not identical, a man and a woman, with awe, discover in one another something mystical. It is simultaneously frightening and exciting. Drawing the two to intermingle in some divine transformative dance that has cosmic echos. There is mutual submission, each depositing their own autonomous, sovereign authority somewhere deep within the other. This is the mystery of one. The Whole Purpose Love is dynamic. It is a mysterious power. As weak as human flesh that is made of dust, while simultaneously powerful enough to hold the universe together at every point. Somehow, this divine power speaks softly into every aspect of human life. Love is revealed at every turn. The question is, “Do we have eyes that see, ears that hear, and a heart that is willing to respond?� Love is personal and public. He purposes to fill all things and all things groan with longing until this purpose is fulfilled completely. Human microcosms paint a picture of this celestial drama with every breath we take. Our lives that are but a moment have eternal reverberations, poems that continue to speak through the ages. So much more when the two come together in this mystery of one. 10
Reciprocal, Not Identical Like puzzle pieces coming together, drawing scattered bits of a picture into proper place, each piece, reciprocal, not identical. Complete. We find one another through some move of wisdom and power that far surpasses our finite understanding. In the beginning, He brought her to him. His eyes fell upon her, and he set his love there. A suitable mate, a helper to guard his heart, strengthen his mind, to give him reason to be stronger and better. Reciprocal, not identical. A cord of three strands that is not easily broken. This is the mystery of one. Merging Begins Perfect love casts out all fear so that only what cannot be shaken remains as the merging begins. Overwhelming, overflow begins, washing away doubts and she is brought to him. He moves towards her. She is caught up to meet him. They stand there clothed in one another. His words emerge from her lips. Her thoughts are made known to him. It is sudden. It is frightening. A divine synergy. This is the mystery of one. Poiēma Two weary sojourners discover that there is something more and they are part of it in a very special Way, part of the poiēma. In the beginning, He created Human, male and female, He created them. This is the mystery of one.

Love This Side of the Year of the Pandemic Written by Justin Gaynor With 2020 in the rear-view mirror, we have an opportunity to take inventory of our relationships. This is an important thing to do gentlemen. The reason why is that we live life according to a certain way. That way requires us to know the condition of those that have been entrusted to our care. The fact is, every person you have a relationship with is in your care in some way. You have the ability to be petty with them, to tear them down, to detract from their life...or you can be intentional about encouraging them, building them up, and helping them to fulfill their purpose in life. Destroying Strongholds I am the kind of guy that likes to deal with problems first. Many of our relationships have been severely stressed during the past year. That is the past. However, there may have been situations where trust was breached, where lies or halftruth took root in what you believe about someone, or what they believe about you. These are strongholds that all the dark forces in the universe love to use to destroy families, communities, and nations. So, gentlemen, we can be proactive about seeking reconciliation where needed, forgiving when and where possible, and so forth. We can be intentional about loving those that are behaving in an unloving fashion in an effort to destroy anything that hinders love from issuing forth from pure hearts, good consciences, and a sincere faith.

Foundations The next thing to consider is setting up a firm foundation in your relationships. On the Gentleman’s Purpose LIVE show we have been looking at one of the most famous speeches ever given. It’s called the Sermon on the Mount. It consists of three chapters in the Gospel according to St. Matthew. You should become deeply familiar with this talk and the lessons in it. Then you should consider your various relationships in light of the content. This will help to make sure that as you build up your relationships they will be set on solid ground. Like a Master Builder From that point on, you will want to be intentional about building each relationship with quality materials. Things that are going to bring both you and your family, friends, co-workers, and customers into strong, lasting, and fruitful relationships. Each relationship will be reciprocal, but not identical. Every individual within your sphere of influence has their own worldview, opinions, strengths, weaknesses, experiences, and so forth. Your responsibility is to discover how you can meet them where they are and then walk together in a way that brings you both to a more joyful, peaceful state of being. Scarf Weather Growing up in Florida I didn’t hear the phrase “scarf weather” spoken too often. It really wasn’t until I moved to North Carolina when I discovered this amazing accessory to a gentleman’s wardrobe. A scarf really is a versatile thing. They come in all sorts of textures and colors. Scarves can be worn in a number of different ways. Then there are the practical benefits. The added warmth, protection from the wind, the ability to use it as a mask to prevent the spread of COVID and so forth.

Head Coverings A tremendous amount of heat is lost through your head. That is why hats of various styles can be so helpful during the winter months in staying warm. It is no secret that we at Gentleman’s Purpose are huge fans of wearing hats of all sorts. From the classic fedoras to toboggans or beanies, ball caps, and other stylish head wear. As we move into the winter months how can you be more intentional about utilizing this great accessory? 26
Funky Socks My stepmom is notorious for discovering and wearing some of most unique socks. I say, "Why should the chicks have all the fun?" Socks are a fun, discreet way to express yourself. Sort of like having your tattoo sleeve hidden under your Jos. A Bank dress shirt at the office. You and the people that 'need to know' will appreciate them. So, add some fun to your sock drawer in 2021...and make it easier to match those socks on laundry day.

Positioning for 2021 Written by Justin Gaynor As arbitrary as it can be, starting a new year still gives us a psychological boost. A boost that we want to take full advantage of. I am not talking about New Year’s resolutions. Rather, prayerfully authoring a plan and looking to God to establish your steps this year.
Income
The first thing we want to look at is income. Our guest on Gentleman’s Purpose LIVE, James Buchanan, told us a few months ago that the average millionaire in America has seven streams of income. This may include a dividend paying stock portfolio or interest-bearing bond investments, but it most certainly includes businesses owned by the individual. Start with your primary source of income and consider how you may be able to gain more from that. If you own your own business, how can you increase sales or profit margins? Are there opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining or increasing the level of quality and client satisfaction? Then you want to consider how you can add additional streams of income to your overall financial picture. Are there things that you are passionate about and perhaps already doing that can be effectively monetized? This will all take proper planning, investment, and more...but it will be worth it, if done properly. 30

Savings The next thing we need to delve into is savings. In 2021, how are you going to strengthen your cash position? If there is one thing that we should have learned in 2020 it is that having a strong cash position can help you weather difficult seasons, and put you in a position to be of benefit to others. It is always better to have too much cash, than not enough. A strong cash position will also help keep you out of slavery to debt. This starts with hard numbers. Having looked at your income...how can you live in such a way that 10 - 20 percent of your monthly income goes into some sort of savings or investment account?

Growth The concept of being growth minded goes beyond just dollars and cents. Growth really is about your whole lifestyle and being. You will want to consider promotion opportunities at work, expansion ideas if you own your own business, maximizing and monetizing your existing skillsets, and aptitudes, and so forth. You should be looking for strong, sustainable growth options that will produce good fruit that will last.

Investments
Where you allocate your income that is earmarked for investment is important. You will want to consider potential risks and compare that to potential return on investment. Some investments will be mostly passive such as certain types of real estate investments, or a portfolio of mutual funds. Some will require a lot more involvement. Operating an online store that sells tangible products as a side gig for instance. It is important to think these things through thoroughly, to establish a plan, and to execute well.
Individual Development Last, but certainly not least, we need to consider and establish what our personal and professional goals are going to be for the year. Writing a detailed, month to month plan will help you to stay on track as you successfully reach goals, or at least points of note during the year. One easy and often overlooked personal and professional development goal should be establishing a reading list for the year. We’ve said before that the average CEO in America reads 5 books per month. We are not all CEOs, but being a well-read person will help you in many ways. There may also be additional certifications, or licenses that you will want to obtain, health and wellness goals, and so on and so forth. In all of these various aspects of positioning yourself for success in 2021, you should be speaking with wise counsel...friends, family, clergy. These relationships will provide encouragement, insight, and perhaps direction. There is a significant blessing and power to accomplish things when people come into agreement with you and the plans you prayerfully set forth. 34

A Ravishing Experience Written by Justin Gaynor
When I first heard of Ravish by the Living Room, wonderful memories of romantic dates at the original Living Room restaurant in Boynton Beach returned to me. The restaurant is at a newer location: 210 East Ocean Avenue, Lantana, FL 33462. The comfortable, upscale atmosphere was even better than I remembered. The decor is quite eclectic and there is a rich sense of sophistication. I really felt as though I had come home after a hard day at the office when I sank into that comfy loveseat with it’s holiday throw pillows. It certainly didn’t hurt that my friend, the beautiful and talented Tracy Renee was providing the musical entertainment for the evening. She is actually the reason I decided to visit Ravish the day after Christmas and I am glad I did. The mostly open-air restaurant was very welcoming. There were large modern space heaters taking the chill off the night air. In front of that comfy couch I took my seat in was a nice coffee table with a QR Code for the menu which was filled with a diversity of delicious snacks and entrees on offer. My server approached and asked for my drink order. I decided to go with a Grey Goose Vodka Martini (a little dirty). It had been a while since I had enjoyed one of those. With Tracy strumming the guitar and singing beautifully in the background, I decided to go with the Shepherd’s Pie. My mom used to make an AMAZING Shepherd’s Pie and when this dish arrived at my table, it was without question going to give momma’s cooking a run for it’s money. The chef did an outstanding job with the presentation and it was even more delicious to the taste. All in all, I highly recommend Ravish by the Living Room.
