These memberships grant you access to the amenities at The Center on a shorter contract, giving you more flexibility and a better fit for your busy schedule.

Explore, Learn and Conserve... Join the Park District and Scouting America Troop 100 for an outdoor event that combines a hike with engaging educational learning opportunities. This event will cover basic outdoor educational information such as fire starting, items to pack for a day hike or camping trip and plant identification.

The month of May is National Water Safety Month! Come learn more about water related recreational activities as well as boat safety. Did you know...

As a part of the Geneseo Park District, Bright Beginnings Preschool students get an enhanced learning environment by utilizing all The Center has to offer...including indoor & outdoor play areas!

• Prices are based on Member (M) or Non-Member (NM) status.

• Preschool fees are based upon a yearly rate, but can be paid by the month for no additional fee. Preschool Fees are due the first class of each month.

• Preschool begins after Labor Day & ends before Memorial Day. Preschool follows the Geneseo School District 228 calendar for full days off (not including early dismissals or half days).

• On days when Geneseo Schools are canceled because of weather, Preschool is also canceled. No refunds will be given.

• Preschool will not go past the scheduled school year, even if emergency school days are used by the Geneseo School District

• Preschool is located through the Gym in the 1st classroom in the Growth Inc. building.

• Bright Beginnings Preschool is not affiliated with Growth Inc. Child Care Center. Children from Growth Inc. are welcome to attend Bright Beginnings Preschool and will be picked up by the teacher on class days.

THE DOCTOR’S IN

Welcome to our preschool doctor’s office, where little hands make big differences! In this imaginative play center, children step into the role of caring doctors and nurses, using toy medical equipment to examine, treat, and care for their own dolls and stuffed animals. Whether it’s a teddy bear with a tummy ache or a doll with a scraped knee, our young caregivers diagnose, bandage, and comfort their “patients” with empathy and creativity.

This dramatic play experience helps children develop language, fine motor skills, problem-solving, and emotional understanding - all while having fun and learning the importance of kindness and care. The doctor is definitely in!

PRESCHOOL SOCCER LEAGUE

This program is designed to introduce young children to the basics of soccer in a fun and engaging environment. Practice will be held on the first Sunday, where participants will learn essential skills and techniques. Games will be held the last three Sundays of the season.

Please note that there are no additional practices outside of the Sunday meetings. Just show up on the first Sunday, and we’ll take it from there. Join us for a season of fun, teamwork, and soccer skills!

First game will be held April 19th.

Shin guards are required, cleats are optional.

Are you ready to prove your skills and rise to the top of the Madden world? Join us for an exciting, action-packed, single elimination Middle School PS5 Madden Tournament. Up to 16 teams will battle it out for the ultimate title! Games will be set on a timer so we can ensure all games can be played in one day. Lunch & snacks will be provided.

Member and Guest Conduct Guidelines and Discipline

Each member or guest of Park District facilities has a responsibility to behave properly while on Park District premises. Individuals who participate in district programs are expected to act within acceptable levels of behavior.

According to the Geneseo Park District’s Behavior Policy, unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:

• Improper use of materials or equipment

• Objectionable gestors; profane, vulgar or objectionable language

• Fighting

• Disrespect of participants, staff, or the public

• Damage or destruction of Park District property or property of others

• Theft

• Smoking, possession or use of alcohol or drugs, vaping

• Harassment or abuse of fellow participants or staff

• Other acts which may be determined to be unacceptable by the program supervisor

To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment, Park District staff will implement a rigorous discipline policy aimed at maintaining safety during program and facility use. Any behaviors that jeopardize the safety and security of others may lead to skipped steps or suspension from the facility or program.

STEP 1

Class prerequisites: Must be 6 months by the first lesson. This parent and child water exploration class emphasizes water safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Participants engage in guided activities in the shallow end of the pool to develop fundamental aquatic skills, including floating on the back, kicking from the wall, and submerging while holding the breath. The program promotes social interaction, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for aquatic recreation.

STEP 2

Class prerequisites: Must have passed Step 1 or be 4 years old by first lesson Participants will develop independence and confidence in the water through a progression of fundamental aquatic skills. Instruction focuses on safe entry and exit using the pool steps or side, jumping into the water with or without assistance, and performing supported front and back floats. As the session advances, participants will work toward mastering independent face and back floats, unassisted jumping, rhythmic bobbing, and basic locomotion skills.

Participants will continue to build foundational swimming skills through activities that develop breath control, submersion, and buoyancy. Instruction emphasizes front and back floats, coordinated kicking, and rhythmic breathing techniques. By the end of the session, participants will work toward swimming independently across half the length of the shallow end. Ages: 4 yrs or older

Participants will refine their foundational swimming abilities with a focus on building endurance, coordination, and confidence in both shallow and deep water. Instruction emphasizes proper technique for the front crawl and back crawl, including body position, arm movement, rhythmic breathing, and efficient kicking. This program focuses on enhancing stroke efficiency, endurance, and overall water proficiency. Participants will refine their front and back crawl over two lengths of the pool while developing additional strokes such as the sidestroke and elementary backstroke. Instruction includes mastery of turnovers and the whip kick on both the front and back, along with water safety techniques such as assists and sustained treading. By the end of the session, swimmers will demonstrate improved technique, endurance, and confidence in deep water.

STEP 6

Class prerequisites: Must have passed Step 5

This program is designed to strengthen endurance, refine technique, and expand participants mastery of advanced swimming skills. Swimmers will develop proficiency in the butterfly, completing one length with proper form, and will swim two lengths each of the sidestroke and breaststroke, along with four lengths of front and back crawl. Instruction emphasizes advanced techniques such as the dolphin kick, approach stroke, survival float, and survival stroke, as well as essential water safety skills including retrieving a brick from depth. By the end of the program, participants will demonstrate advanced stroke efficiency, endurance, and strong lifesaving fundamentals.

This advanced program is designed to prepare participants for future lifeguard training by strengthening both their swimming proficiency and water safety knowledge. Swimmers will work toward mastering all competitive and survival strokes, sustaining treading for ten minutes, and developing strong underwater swimming techniques. The course also introduces essential lifesaving skills, including water escapes, rescues, CPR compressions, and basic first aid procedures. By the end of the program, participants will possess the endurance, skill, and safety awareness necessary to advance to the Junior Lifeguard or Lifeguard certification level.

STARGUARD LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. Training includes water rescue techniques, CPR, first aid, and the use of AEDs, ensuring readiness for real-life scenarios. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, in-water skills sessions, and classroom instruction. • Day Camp will begin at 7:30 am everyday with an Early Bird option for a 6:30 am drop-off.

• Mornings will be full of activities and games centered around the theme for each week.

• Our afternoons will be filled with swimming at the Aquatic Center, crafts and fun!

• Summer Day Camp participants have weekly Field Trips.

• Children will be able to sign up for other Geneseo Park District programs. Camp Counselors will escort your child to and from their programs.

• Pick-up will be at 5:30 pm.

Fast, fun, and non contact, girls flag football is growing at high schools, colleges, and even on the international stage. I.M.P.A.C.T.

It is the policy of the Park District that program participants must have a current membership to participate at membership rates. Memberships must be purchased prior to the program start date to receive the programs membership rate, the difference will NOT be refunded for memberships purchased after the first day of a program. Patrons may register for programs at the membership rate beyond their membership expiration date but if they do not renew they will be obligated to pay the difference between the member and non-member rate for programs that they continue to participate in past their expiration date.

On days when the Geneseo School District releases early or cancels due to weather, our programs are also canceled. If the Geneseo School District has a late start all Adult Programs will run as scheduled. All other programs scheduled after school would run as scheduled. Make-up classes will be scheduled if facility and instructor resources are available.

The Park District and/or its independent contractors reserve the right to consolidate, postpone or cancel any activity or program that has not met the established minimum. The determination to cancel programs will be made 3 days prior to scheduled start date.

If lightning strikes or thunder is heard all pool participants will be required to be out of the Indoor Pool or Aquatic Center for 15 minutes from the time of the last lightning strike or thunder heard.

PROGRAM REFUNDS

Participants that request a refund before the start of a program will receive a full refund. Refunds requested after the start of a program will receive ½ of the unused portion minus a $5.00 service fee. The $5.00 service fee will be waived if the patron chooses to send the refund to their account as a credit on account versus being mailed a refund check.

OOPS!

The Park District staff has made every effort to prepare this guide as accurately as possible. However, errors can occur. Circumstances may require that adjustments be made to programs, fees, schedules, etc. The Park District reserves the right to make any adjustments. The Park District apologizes for any inconvenience these errors or adjustments may cause.

PHOTO / VIDEO DISCLOSURE

By registering for, participating in or attending Park District programs, events, or other activities, the participant agrees to the use and distribution by the Park District of his or her image. If you do not wish your household to be photographed, you will need to complete & sign the Photo Waiver form at the Geneseo Community Center.

WHAT DISCOUNTS DO YOU OFFER?

The Geneseo Park District offers a Business Membership Discount. If your employer has a Business Membership, you could be eligible for a 10% discount off your annual Membership fee. Please inquire with a Community Center Manager to see if your employer participates. Your employer is not part of this program? Talk to them today about helping you and your coworkers receive a discount to get fit and healthy. Healthy employees are more productive and can reduce employer expenses. CAN I USE THE CENTER OR AQUATIC CENTER IF I AM NOT A MEMBER?

Yes, anyone can use The Center, John & Carla Edwards Aquatic Center or sign up for programs.

WHAT IF I AM NOT A RESIDENT OF THE GENESEO PARK DISTRICT?

Paying by cash or check? No fee!

Non-residents are persons who do not reside within the corporate boundaries of the Park District or do not pay taxes for the Park District.

A $80 non-resident fee will be applied to Community Center & Park District membership purchases or renewals. (Not applicable to 1-month memberships). A $35 non-resident fee will be applied to Aquatic Center memberships.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR A MEMBERSHIP?

The Geneseo Park District offers three easy payment plan options...

1 - PAY Pay the full amount owed at time of purchase.

3 - PAY [3 Consecutive Monthly Payments] The membership rate is divided into 3 equal payments, which are paid the first three months of your membership plus a $10.00 service fee. If monthly payments are not paid by due dates, a late fee of $10.00 per month will be charged. Future memberships may not be obtained until complete balances are paid in full. Only available on annual membership purchase. The $10 service fee is reflected in the listed 3-pay price.

12 - PAY (ACH) [Monthly Payments Automatically Withdrawn from your checking account] The 12-pay (ACH) plan is the only way that the Geneseo Park District can accept monthly payments for annual Community Center or Park District membership dues. This is a continuous membership plan; memberships will automatically renew on the members’ yearly expiration date. The membership price including service fee of $2 per month, and non-resident fee when applicable, is divided by 12 to arrive at the monthly payment. An initial down payment is required at time of purchase, fulfilling the first month’s payment obligation and a $25 Activation Fee. The monthly dues will be deducted from the members bank account for a minimum of 11 consecutive months. After that time, they will automatically continue until the GPD receives request to terminate from the member. Monthly dues will be withdrawn on the 15th of the month unless the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday in which case withdrawals will be made the following business day. Click here to cancel. Cancellations may be submitted via email to the Administrative Assistant jolson@ geneseoparkdistrict.org or by visiting the Geneseo Community Center in person to complete our cancellation form. Should any membership draft not be honored by the members financial institution for any reason, the membership will be suspended. The member will be required to pay the balance due plus a $5 service fee. Balance due must be paid in full, in person, by cash or credit card. This is in addition to any service fee the financial institution may make. Monthly dues will continue to be automatically deducted from the members bank account as scheduled while the membership is suspended. Memberships will be canceled after a second consecutive insufficient funds notice is received. Memberships that are suspended and/or canceled due to delinquent payments will receive email notification from GPD. Canceled memberships are required to pay the past due amount plus service fees in full before future memberships may be purchased and are subject to the activation fee. Memberships canceled prior to meeting the first 1-year commitment will be subject to the GPD cancellation policy and required to pay ½ of the unused balance plus a $5 service fee. If a membership is canceled due to insufficient funds, future requests for payment plans will be reviewed and the Geneseo Park District reserves the right to accept or reject requests. The Geneseo Park District Board of Directors may, at their discretion, adjust the monthly rate applicable to any category of membership.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL OR UPGRADE MY MEMBERSHIP OR PROGRAM?

UPGRADING MY MEMBERSHIP: When upgrading your membership you will receive 100% credit of the unused portion on the existing membership which is deducted from the new membership price. A new expiration date is established at the time of upgrade. New payment plan forms will be completed at this time. No refunds are applied on 12-pay (ACH) option.

MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION POLICY: Click here to cancel your membership. MEMBERSHIPS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. Memberships purchased under false pretenses will be terminated and no refunds will be given.
