ABOUT US

The Geneseo Park District Foundation was founded in 2014 primarily to help raise capital funds for a new Aquatic Center. The Foundation has since broadened its focus to continue to support and promote the mission of the Geneseo Park District.

OUR MISSION

The Foundation’s mission is to promote and cultivate stewardship along with financial support empowering the Geneseo Park District to enhance the quality of life in our community by providing a positive recreational experience for all.

The Foundation cooperatively works with the Park District Board & Staff in selecting and funding capital improvement projects for the Geneseo Park District.

ACHIEVING OUR MISS ION

The Foundation will achieve its mission by...

• identifying and raising funds for park and recreation based capital improvement projects

• organizing and hosting community special events for fund-raising purposes

• supporting the FUNding Positive Recreational Experiences Financial Assistance Program

• supporting and promoting the mission of the Geneseo Park District

Geneseo Community Center

The GENESEO COMMUNITY CENTER , located at 541 E. North Street has served as the center of recreational activities in our community since 1983. The Community Center offers something for everyone with an indoor pool, cardio/weight room, life fitness room, sauna, dedicated gymnastics room, a gymnasium with basketball, pickleball & racquetball courts and an indoor elevated walking track.

STEAM ROOM

Steam rooms offer benefits consistent with a sauna (sweat, relax, lower pulse/blood pressure) without the higher temps of a traditional sauna

BRONZE STATUE

Lifelike bronze statue at the entrance of the Community Center of children doing what they do best...playing.

KEY FAB SYSTEM

As an update in our facility security, this Card Access system will provide a more secure method of who has access to our facilities that can be controlled and monitored to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our facilities, members and assets.

INFRARED SAUNA

Open the sauna experience to those who may not be able to withstand the hotter air created within a traditional sauna. Infrared heats the body directly using somewhat lower temperatures than does the traditional stove heated sauna.

STATION BENCH

Bench is designed to provide a comfortable place to sit, relax and charge your devices quickly.

John & Carla Edwards Aquatic Center

Adjacent to The Center, the JOHN & CARLA EDWARDS AQUATIC CENTER was completed in May 2016. This outdoor complex includes a Pool house, Splash Pad, 6 Lane Lap Pool, Drop Slide, 2 Diving Boards, Climbing Wall, Activity Pool with Zero Depth Entry, Play Feature, Lily Pad Walk and Current Channel. Concessions are available during Open Swim Hours. The temperature controlled Poolside Room is available to rent year round.

FLUME SLIDE

20 ft tall single person water slide with multiple loops and ends in a deceleration shoot.

SHADE SAIL

Stay out of the sun while enjoying some time at the Aquatic Center with an additional shade sail.

SNO CONE MACHINE

These icy treats come in many different flavors and would be a refreshing addition to the Aquatic Center during the warm summer months.

Athletic Field CREATING MEMORIES...

The ATHLETIC FIELD , located 1 block west of the Community Center offers FREE outdoor recreation, is open to all residents for a variety of uses such as; basketball, tennis, pickleball, running/walking on the track, playing a game on the permanent bags court, ping pong table and sand volleyball court or just lounging on the grass! The Athletic Field currently serves as the host to Geneseo Youth & Middle School Football.

SKATE PARK

Purpose-built recreational environment made for skateboarding, BMX, scooter, wheelchair, and aggressive inline skating.

TENNIS/PICKLEBALL COURTS

Replace the current cracked courts with a new smooth play surface and fencing.

DOG PARK

The dog park will provide an enclosed place for dogs to socialize and play on equipment.

Anderson Memorial Park CREATING MEMORIES...

ANDERSON MEMORIAL PARK is located on the corner of Main and Illinois Street. A gazebo, swing, benches and an ADA compliant picnic table allow citizens a place to rest, relax and reflect.

Central Theater

Since 1996 the Park District has operated the CENTRAL THEATER located downtown Geneseo at 111 North State St. The theater seats 178 and shows new movies in Digital Cinema Projection with 7.1 Dolby surround sound at affordable hometown prices.

Edwards Park Property

J.F. Edwards Construction Company donated EDWARDS PARK PROPERTY to the Park District. This 37.8 acres of land is located north of Geneseo along route 82 and will be an excellent addition to the Park District amenities once developed.

Development of Edwards Property using a feasibility study and community input to fulfill the needs of the community.

Athletics CREATING MEMORIES...

Have a BALL…while you help young athletes better enjoy their experiences. The Geneseo Park District needs to continually replace the items that are kicked, thrown, hit and tossed around during the normal course of competition.

SPEED & AGILITY TRAINERS

Help young athletes increase their footwork and agility in game-line movement patterns. Agility trainers are great for all sports that require quick feet and fast action game settings.

The Park District offers gymnastics programs for children ages 3 and up. This program offers instruction for a wide variety of ages and levels from preschool tumbling all the way up to competitive USAG Developmental Program.

These mats are used in USAG Development program as well as for teaching aids for skill development during training and practice sessions.

Thanks to the Foundation, the Park District is able to offer FREE annual events for the community such as Easter Egg Hunt, Turkey Trot & Santa at The Center just to name a few. The Park District also offers a Day Camp that has become a big hit with parents & kids!

FIRE PIT

Safely enjoy the fire pit experience at the Annual Community Camp Out.

ROLLER-SKATES

Children of all ages love to come to The Center on Saturday nights for Roller-skating during the winter. These skates will add to the existing supply and replace the ones that are close to retirement.
