First I would just like to thank you for stopping by to have a look and read of Seeds for Success. Volume one has a wealth of content surrounding financial mastery, what it is and how to evolve your own. I would like you to first take a moment to get an awareness of what wealth actually means to you. Don't judge it as being good or bad.

Unless you have that, you will have a misunderstanding and misapprehension about how you can actually create it in your own life. If you misidentify the difference between money and wealth, you have already mixed two things that aren't supposed to be together, together.

It is a state of being, having joy, having fun, having no limitation, having the capacity to create and generate. For me it's about creation and generation.

I feel so limited if I don't have the choice to create and generate.

Wealth is the capacity to be, do and have unlimited possibilities and choices. To create and generate everything with total ease, to be a catalyst for change...

RICH VS WEALTHY ‘IS IT TOO LATE TO BECOME WEALTHY AFTER 50?’

I get asked the question ‘Is it too late to become wealthy after 50?’ quite often. The truth is, it’s never too late to choose to be wealthy, whether we’re 50 or 60 or 70+ years old.

Most people think that being rich and being wealthy are the same thing. But there is a huge difference between the two.

Being rich is about getting and possessing a lot of money; being wealthy is about living a generative life, doing what you enjoy, and simply “freedom of choice.” The word wealth comes from the Old English words “weal ” (well-being) and “th” (condition) which taken together means “the condition of well-being”.

Rich people are motivated by money and often come from a sense of lack, while wealthy people are fired up by their ability to create and generate new and different possibilities.

Contrary to what many people believe, we don’t have to come from an affluent family, we don’t have to earn a massive paycheck and we don’t even have to be an expert in finance to be wealthy.

Wealth is not about the amount of assets or money we have. It’s much more than money. It’s about having joy in our life. It’s an outlook and awareness of possibilities beyond having or not having money and beyond our current financial reality. There is the sense of having a choice. There is no limit to what we can create.

Wealth to me is the essence of who we are. It doesn’t require any particular skill or special ability or belief. It just is. It is a way of being in the world. It is a level of energy that feels like there is no lack in our life.

Generating wealth beyond your current job never crosses the minds of most people. They are focused on looking for the right job that will provide them just enough money to survive short term with steady pay checks, and never ask ‘What else is possible?’

How about you? An income from your current job, no matter how large and substantial, doesn't necessarily equate to wealth. If you are not financially aware and if you don’t know what you can do with the money you have, you will never become truly wealthy.

Do you believe you have what it takes to be wealthy?

Your current financial reality is the reflection of your points of view about wealth, money and finance.

For example, if you believe that you have to work hard in order to have money and you don’t have a sense of ease with having money, then you will constantly create that as your life. In truth, when you allow yourself to be bound to your current job (whether it be salaried, stay at home, self-employed or any other combination), you are limiting your capacity to generate greater wealth.

If this is the situation you are finding yourself in, there are some things you can do to change and create different possibilities. To escape the drudgery of living pay check to pay check, and the trap of the financial hamster wheel, you first need to be aware of your points of view that have prevented you from being abundantly wealthy, and be willing to change those points of view. Without such awareness, you’ll only be applying short-term solutions. There will be no change.

Here are four strategies to generate wealth beyond your job.

1. Change your point of view about money and wealth. Generating true wealth begins with your mindset and the way you think about finance and about making money. Are you willing to see that trying to change your financial reality will be ineffective, until you change your points of view? If you don’t believe that you can generate wealth and have a thriving financial future then you won’t create it.

2. Knowing what you would like to create as your future. Everything you do creates your future. It is essential to be aware of what you would like to create as your life and your financial future. Once you know this, you will start to generate what is required to create your financial future. Ask yourself: “What are you creating? Are you happy to just work hard for your money? What do you really want to create as your future? Where do you see yourself being in 5 years’ and 10 years’ time? What would you like to achieve? By asking these questions, you will become aware of the information you require in order to achieve a thriving financial future.

3. Understand Finance. If you wish to create the wealth you desire, it is essential to educate yourself about money and finance. Educate yourself about what having money is and to be aware of your money situation. Do you have a clear picture of your personal financial position? The first thing you need to do is find out how much money you have, how much you owe, how much you spend, and how much you need to generate each month. You must know what it costs you to live the life you desire, so you can see what kind of money will be required to be generated. This is about looking at how things really are, instead of how you would like them to be.

4. Develop multiple revenue streams doing something that you love and enjoy. The people who love what they do and do it because it brings them joy are the ones who will make money at it. Please get that the energy you create from, is what creates and generates your life.

So, do you know what it is that you enjoy doing the most? Become aware of the things that you are good at. It’s very important to be good at what you love to do if you would like to make money from it.

Given how important financial skills are to navigating life, it’s surprising that most of us don't understand the most elementary basics of money and how money works.

What do you do on a daily basis with living a full life in mind? If you're struggling to think of anything, that's okay, you're not alone.

Here's the thing – you have a choice in life. You can choose to live your life to the fullest or you can have a normal life. To live life to the fullest you must choose to move beyond your limited beliefs, and beyond anything you ever knew or thought was actually possible.

Your limited beliefs are the limit of what you have decided is not possible for you. There is a chance it could be possible, but your point of view is that it is not possible.

But limited beliefs are very common in this reality and they don't have to stop you from living your life to the fullest, and there is also no need for a monumental achievement daily to tick that box.

The Big Four Questions If you're trying to determine what it is that you really want from your life and what will help you live a full life, then ask yourself these questions and follow your awareness to recognize what you're trying to tell yourself.

1. What gives you joy? - Right now, ask yourself "What gives me joy? - write down on a sheet of paper and review it later. It might not make a whole lot of sense initially, it's essentially free writing to direct you. It isn't about doing something because your brain is telling you to, it's about relying on your awareness to lead you.

You’re always going to have to incorporate awareness to create something greater. Awareness is the only thing that will grow anything – your business, your life, your relationship.

Follow your awareness and sense where you are being led, no matter where it may be guiding you. Emotions aren't always wise, but your awareness is, so listen to your awareness. This will help you filter out some of what you have written as you've let yourself flow onto the paper. It's part of the process required to make sense of what you've put down on paper.

If you start doing something you love, your whole energy will be working for you; your life will expand and everything opens up. As you start to put more energy into generating your life, everything else in your life expands by osmosis because that energy of generating more in your life generates more and you will have more of you in your life.

Don’t ever make it so you are too busy to do what gives you joy. Your life is not just about work. You should be doing what generates your life.

2. Are you willing to be or do different, and do whatever it takes, to change your current situation? - The only person who actually creates a remarkable life is a person who is willing to be or do something different. When you’re willing to be and do different, you create and generate something. If you’re not willing to be or do different, then you keep trying to do what everybody has told you that you should do to get a result that’s different than the result you’re getting.

You have to be willing to change anything in a heartbeat. Don't look for the answers and don’t function from the conclusion, ever. Start being the question and go “Okay, this isn’t working, what do I need to change? What else needs to be different?"

Instead of coming to conclusion, ask “What can I be or do different today that would create more than I ever thought was possible right away?” If you don’t come to conclusions, you will always be looking at another possibility.

3. What If It's Different Than I Imagined? - Nothing is ever as you expect it to be. But it could be better than you could possibly imagine if you don’t live from conclusion, projection, expectation, and judgment.

If you are truly following your joy it won't matter whether it unfolds as you imagined, there's a good chance that it will be even better.

It's important to remember, though, that even when chasing your dreams there will be bumps along the way. Life can never be perfect, but there is something about life's imperfections that make it worth living.

Nothing turns out perfect, does it? But it could be better than you could possibly imagine if you don’t live from the need to get the perfect and right result.

4. What Limits You? - We all feel held back by assumptions and expectations at various points in our lives. We are comfortable in the box that we have created for ourselves, at least, that's what we tell ourselves. In truth, we've allowed ourselves to become trapped in a box with a trap lid.

What assumptions could be limiting you from making progress in life?

I can't earn less than X to live a happy life I'm too old for this I'm not good enough My marriage won't survive this change I don't have what it takes I don't have the necessary skills I don't have anything to offer I'm too tired My life won't be better than this There's nothing special about me

Getting Started The key to living a full life is finding out what really matters to you, determining what you want, and going after it full force.

If you’re considering something career-related, why not volunteer in a place related to that priority? It's a great way to see if it really is what you want and get a better feel for things.

Alternatively, you could shadow someone who is in the career you want for yourself and see what happens.

If your priority isn't career-related, it should be much easier to launch yourself headfirst into it. When you are lying on your deathbed, those limits won't mean much.

Generative eating is a lifestyle choice, and a generative lifestyle takes commitment to implement it. The best way to ease yourself into it is to take things you normally eat and change them over to a more generative choice one item at a time. When you are baking or cooking, a great idea is to continue making the same recipes, but slowly change the ingredients to those that are more generative.

Here are some ideas for substitutes that will taste just as good as the original, and will fulfill their intended purpose when it comes to each recipe you use it for.

Coconut Oil - Coconut oil is versatile and can be used in place of many unhealthy oils. It can withstand the high temperatures of the oven's heat, and because of this you can use it in place of butter or other oils when roasting vegetables or baking goodies.

Honey - Honey is a great, clean substitute for all forms of sugar. Stop using refined sugar and leave behind the negative effect it has on your body, blood sugar, weight and health. In addition to sweetening your recipes naturally, honey has antimicrobial properties and can even lessen your seasonal allergies when you choose a local variety.

Herbs - Herbs are great when you want to replace anything undesirable in your cooking. If you are making a high-fat or high-salt meal, you can often cut down on both by simply seasoning the food with extra herbs. Herbs contain nutrients that fat and salt do not. As you use them to provide taste to your recipes, you will find yourself needing less and less of the unhealthy flavor enhancers.

Travel is fun and lots of people travel with the sole purpose of enjoyment. Most people associate travel with the idea of being on vacation, and most of all, with breaking routine and escaping from mundane daily life and living. For some, travel’s a dream that only comes true once a year for the annual vacation. For many, it is an appealing form of escape.

For me, the reason to travel is that I discover a lot about myself and discover new and different possibilities. To see different possibilities, the most effective way is to seek new experiences and blitz our brain with things it has never encountered before. Whenever I’m traveling I feel recharged and full of ideas and energy.

Travelling can provide us with a whole new perspective, a sense of adventure that allows us to grow our creative power and to think outside the box. All the unknown landscapes, objects, and people give us new inputs and stimulates our creativity. ..... Now I'm not talking about taking a vacation and sightseeing, or backpacking across continents, or sitting on the beach, or doing touristy activities. When I speak of travelling, I talk about having an opportunity for total immersion in a different culture, seeking out new experiences and breaking out of the familiar routines. New experiences release our perceptual activity from the boundaries of past experiences and stimulate the brain to see new possibilities and expand our awareness.

Travelling to foreign environments provides an opportunity for us to expand our awareness and help us unleash our creative process. It reinvigorates our brain because we are being undistracted by the petty drama of normal life. Epiphanies seldom occur in familiar environments. The more diverse our experience the more limber and nimble our perspective becomes and the more possibilities we can perceive. If our perspective is not so solid and fixed, we can find inspiration everywhere, even while we are waiting for our next fight at a very busy airport. Unfamiliarity forces the brain to discard its usual or conventional perception and create new ones. Fresh input triggers new awareness which leads to new ideas.

When we travel, we step out of our comfort zone, physically and mentally. When we are faced with alternative cultures that have a different way of doing, thinking and believing, we are breaking out of our familiar zone and we widen our perspective. It challenges our assumptions and makes us shift our way of looking at things.

Sometimes a simple change of environment is enough to get us out of our comfort zone and enough to nudge the perceptual system out of familiar space. The natural shift in focus can often come on unexpectedly.

Visiting a foreign country opens our eyes to how the rest of the world lives. From my own experience, when I am on an overseas travel, my awareness opens up to different possibilities. Some of my most creative insights are the direct result of visiting unusual places beyond my usual boundaries and normality. I often return home with new ideas for my business while gaining a broader worldview in the process.

Helen and Jacqui and are the ‘gals' behind the laptop, they live with their families in Brisbane, Australia and collectively have over 35 years experience in sales and marketing. Their idea to help women in small business on their overall business strategy (in addition to all things marketing) came about while working with their social media clients and realising that many owners didn't have any type of business or financial plan in place. Many solo business owners also don’t have the budget for the ongoing ‘coaching’ relationship so they saw an opportunity to offer affordable and tailored action plans to help owners to define, create and implement their goals into actionable steps. They also offer group training in the form of workshops and webinars.

What prompted you to create a business from home?

We had a desire to work together (and for ourselves) mainly for the flexibility, for it to be on our own terms but also, after stepping away from our careers to become mothers we both felt the need to use our skills, experience and creativity again. We have young children (Helen, 1 and Jacqui has 2) and they are our priority. In terms of the 'working from home' part… we cant afford office space (well, we have a heap of other priorities before we invest in working space outside of home) so home it is!

In terms of the business itself, we saw an opportunity to affordably support small business owners with their overall business planning and strategy (in addition to marketing).

So many people we’d come across had started a small business doing something they were passionate about (which is fantastic!) but lacked the core business skills to see their business thrive. We help owners to define their goals and support those goals with a plan.

What does that actually mean?

Many business owners we work with struggle to grow the business strategically as they are too busy with the day to day tasks. We help owners work ‘on’ their business instead of ‘in’ their business. Any small business owner will know there are usually a gazillion things they could be (or people on social media tell

them they should be) doing and we help them find the ‘low hanging fruit’. That is, the improvements they can easily implement to give them the biggest uplift for effort. We know our ideal clients are time poor and don’t have endless cash so we keep our engagements and workshops affordable and timely.

Do you have any tips for other women wanting to start?

We do! We have soooo many, in fact we have written a whole blog post about it here. Its important to be realistic about what revenue the business will provide you financially in the first 12 months. If you have unrealistically high goals and you don’t reach them, you may start to have a problem with mindset and negative self talk.

What challenges have you faced so far and how did you overcome them?

One challenge we have experienced and we are sure other small business owners do also is making sure you focus on the revenue coming in WHILE you are working on new products and other non revenue generating activities. Keeping that cash flowing is crucial. Whenever we have found ourselves distracted from our revenue targets we’ve pulled everything back into line by re-visiting our plan and priorities.

We both face the challenge of only working part-time hours which has hindered our growth and meant that we've had to be very selective about the opportunities we pursue which sounds like a negative but its not at all. Before starting the business we each sat down and wrote up our ‘Why’ and our own desires and needs when it came to business ownership and we separately had that having a work/life balance and spending time with our kids was #1 on our list of priorities and neither of us have strayed from this or regretted it.

How important is it to nail your business strategy?

As we are business strategists of course we are going to say it is THE MOST important thing. A brand person will tell you that brand is #1 and a finance person will tell you budgeting and forecasting is #1. But seriously, it really is THE MOST important thing. Having a plan and an intention (goal) of what you set out to achieve each period is crucial. Those goals and objectives then flow down into the rest of the business (i.e; sales, marketing and financials) and form the basis of those plans.

With your experience now, what would you do differently?

Oh, we’ve made a number of mistakes but we needed to go through that process to learn and grow. But I think the #1 mistake most of us make is under estimating the amount of work to successfully launch a new product or service. One example for us was rushing into launching a new ebook (while we were away on Christmas holidays no less). Whilst we had some of the mechanics and processes right, to get serious traction you really need ‘all hands on deck’ I think we pictured it as a ‘passive’ income, but there’s nothing passive about passive income - you still have to do a lot of work to get the sales rolling in!

Your quality of life hinges on your ability to take charge of your fixed points of view. Your beliefs and your fixed points of view are the basis of what occurs in your life.

Every fixed point of view you have, every rightness that you believe, every wrongness that you believe, you are limiting your ability to create abundantly, and you are limiting your ability to have different possibilities.

Many of us believe that our happiness is dependent on outside factors and on what happens to us. This, however, is not true.

Rather, our happiness depends on the way we react to what happens to us. And the same goes for every other aspect of our life too: your stress levels are a result of the way you react to events, and your ability to be productive depends on your reactions too.

Don’t believe me? ... Just for the fun of it, let’s imagine that you’re in a caravan and it’s hanging over the edge of a cliff. If you move too much then it’s going to topple over the edge into a ravine. So, when you are in this situation, then in all likelihood you will be riddled with fear. Your heart rate will increase, your blood vessels will dilate, your muscles will contract and you will start breathing quickly. You’ll sweat and your mind will be all over the place.

But now let’s imagine that you’re in the very same situation but you believe that you can fly. In that case, you’ll probably sit happily reading and not worry all too much about your precarious position!

As you can see here, your belief about the situation and about the events is what is in control of not just your mood – but your very physiology. And guess which person is more likely to survive this situation without letting the caravan fall?

Now don’t get this twisted: I am not here to tell you that holding completely deluded beliefs is the way forward! And nor should you convince yourself you can fly.

But this is merely a demonstration of the power of the mind and of your beliefs. Now if you imagine yourself in another more realistic setting you can see how your beliefs can change the way you react.

Let’s say you’re standing up on stage and you’re about to give a speech in front of lots of people.

Some of us don’t believe we can fly. Some of us think that we’re going to say the wrong thing, that we’re going to stutter and that people are going to laugh at us! We thus begin to panic and guess what? Our blood vessels dilate, our muscles contract and our heart rate goes up. Our mind begins to race which makes us more likely to make mistakes and our throat becomes dry and hoarse.

The irony is that the speech is much more likely to go wrong simply because we’re worried that it might!

And now imagine the same scenario but where you believe it’s going to go well, or where you just aren’t bothered about what other people might think. This kind of calm presence is going to help you to act as though there isn’t even an audience there!

Again, it is your belief and your reaction to the event that is going to keep stress at bay.

And it’s not just these acutely stressful situations that can benefit from attitude and disposition either. Imagine for example that you come home from work and you can’t stop thinking about the last thing your boss/client/colleague said to you. Then you wonder if you sent that important last email…

How present are you going to be when you get home? How much are your family likely to enjoy spending time with you?

Imagine that you are on a great holiday but all you can think about is whether or not you left the oven on at home. How much do you think you’ll enjoy the incredible views of mountains going past your window?

QUESTION 2: What is my priority?

How will your activity in your business generate a positive contribution to the world? Our priority, for example, it so be a catalyst to create change. We travel the world first class, we eat in fine restaurants and we present in boardrooms and to large crowds, but we are not interested in doing any of it unless we can be a catalyst for those people and inspire change in their lives. That is our priority.

What is yours?

QUESTION 3: What could I create as my business that would contribute to my life?

If you exclude your personal life needs from your business, they end up becoming

competing forces that can lead to excessive stress and the feeling that work is ruining your life. The answer is to integrate the two so they both work for you with each other.

QUESTION 4: What do I need to know about my personal finances?

Blending business and personal finances is common for new business owners, but is messy.

Start by gaining a solid understanding of your total personal income, expenses, assets and liabilities, then move outward from there. If you understand your personal finances first, understanding business finance will be easier.

Most people think they have to do it all themselves. Not so. A much better strategy is to surround yourself with experts. If you surround yourself with people who have been there and done that, you will get there too. If you surround yourself with people saying you can't do it and it's all too hard, it will be too hard for you as well.

QUESTION 7: How much will it cost to create the life I truly want?

Reverse budgeting entails you working out how much it will cost to live the life you want, then work backwards to create it. If you want to travel the world first class, know how much it would cost. If you want to stay five-star in Dublin, find out what it will cost. What do you need to be and do differently to create the life you desire?

QUESTION 8: Is thinking big going to work for my business?

"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - You're right," said Henry Ford. The same is true for what you think is possible for your business.

If you believe you are creating small business, you will. Drop your judgement and ask yourself what to be, do or change to create a big business instead.

QUESTION 9: If I had $10 million in the bank already, would I still want to set up my business?

If your answer is "no", change your point of view to find meaning in your business... and if you can't, you may need to drop the idea and find something else to create instead. Working for money alone means your business is separate from you, which creates problems.

The difference between easy and hard is purely your point of view. If you think something is hard, your mind will collect evidence to validate how hard it all is.
