WELCOME TO THE EVENT OF THE SUMMER! On behalf of the entire Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes board of directors I welcome you to “Racing to the Bluegrass”. The Sweepstakes has from its early days been very supportive of the Simmental youth and programs to support them.

Over the years the AJSA National Classic has evolved into one of the most unique and well rounded youth programs of any breed association. Many other major breeds have taken a page from our book to enhance their programs.

The Summer Stakes sale this year is represented by some top open heifers and some of the breeds best pregnancies offered for sale.

We have been on the search for females to add to our small program and this spring at the Dixie National we found Alley 248E. A month later she sold at the Tennessee Agribition and everyone else found her too and commanded $43,000. This outstanding Primo x Alley 247Y to this point has done everything right so it allows us to offer a pregnancy at the Summer Stakes. At the Banners and Beyond embryos were purchased by Chris Ivie and Troy Hadden. Alley 248E dam, Alley 247Y was the sale topper at the Hudson Pines Living Legacy dispersal sale for $87,000. A full sister sold $24,500 going to Double J. We feel great about the sire choices between the Ruby’s Currency and County O. When we heard half interest was going to be offered in the Clear Choice sale we added her to our list to own. The day of the sale we bid one time to own this leading donor in the breed. Serena list of accomplishments plus her sons and daughters are extremely lengthy on their show winnings and sale toppers. Here progeny seem to like to limelight being behind the backdrop. In all the years of the Summer Stakes sales we have been a consignor and offer some of our best genetics. This year we highlight something we are super excited about and that is our involvement with all the other partners in W/C Fort Knox. The Bankroll son, Ft Knox sold half interest for $180,000. We have flushed some of our best donors to this impressive individual. We offer a pregnancy out of Ft Knox that will be due February 2020.

The donor in this package is SS Sensation E119. This young female is tremendous and is one of best ever bred here at Sloups Simmentals. My highly respected neighbor and friend Brandon Luebbue has offered big money for this female and says she the best ever with the Sloup prefix. Our family enjoys showing Simmental cattle and both participating in and supporting the AJSA Classic and Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes events. We love the challenge of developing the Next Generation – both kids and cattle. We were thrilled with the successes of both Ty and Ellie and our heifers last year. NXT Redemption and WRS Echo took us on quite a ride. Bred and Owned banners at the NC Regional and National Classic were capped off with WRS Echo claiming Grand Champion % heifer at the 2018 Simmental Breeders Sweepstakes. We purchased Echo out of the Windy Ridge program and after a decorated show career, she looks to be even more impressive as a donor. We feel W/C Relentless was an obvious and perfect choice for this striking baldie Broker daughter.
