We did not make a donation to WRSC or NAWS this month. We are moving back to quarterly donations by check. With the decision to move to in person area meetings beginning in May (5/22), the current plan is to stop taking donations via paypal the day after the first in person BASC meeting, Monday May 23rd. On May 23rd, the link to the badgerland treasurers paypal account will be removed from the website, and any donations sent to this paypal account after May 23rd will be returned to sender. Once I have confirmed I am able to return donations / stop recurring payments, I will send the remaining money to the badgerland bank account. Then I will sever the link from the badgerland treasurers paypal account and the BASC bank account. The decision to remove the paypal account for donations was not made lightly, and involved long discussions and exploration of how this could be implemented while maintaining accountability and following the intentions (as interpreted by those involved in the discussions) of the BASC policy. Although this will result in less convenience for donations (and paying our bills), we were unable to come to a solution that maintained accountability and was simple to implement. Please reach out to me with any questions, badgerlandnatreasurer@gmail.com. If you have not attended the BASC area in person, bring cash or check donations to the meeting in May, and I will guide you through the process. Thanks for letting me be of service, -Greg

Additional Needs Report April 10, 2022 Nothing to Report
H&I Report April 10, 2022 Dane County Jail remains H&I’s resource that utilizes the most volunteers here in Madison. They recently contacted us that they are beginning the “opening up” process of allowing volunteer services to return to the downtown jail. While no set date has been established they are anticipating this will occur sometime this Summer. There will be a new coordinator for this program taking over the beginning of June. Oakhill Prison has returned to in person meetings and we can ask if any volunteers are present here who’d like to fill us in on meetings there. H&I reached out to Both Rock & Jefferson Co. Jails to see when they plan on returning to in person meetings & asked what we could do to help. Tara J. from Rock County has agreed to be the H&I coordinator there. She is an NA member and has worked with the jail in the past. We sent her a list of volunteers from her area for her to reach out to and to help process new application forms. She will keep Ruth & I up to date. We also reached out to Josie G. from Jefferson County and she is in touch with the Captain there to help get recovery literature to the inmates and coordinate future in person meetings. Sauk County Jail is still awaiting the go ahead from it’s IT dept. on when virtual meetings can commence there.Tullarian Detox remains locked down for in person meetings and they have no timeline on opening up. We continue to supply literature to them when needed. In loving service Ruth & Richard

The cut off date for any new changes will be June 12 which will Area that Sunday. So GSRs please get the word out about people wanting to be on the phone list. Must have at least 6 months cleantime. Please either call me or email me the changes. I am hoping to have new list out by August. This will be the last printing till 2023. Also if there are any GSR changes in your group please let me know. In Loving service, Jennifer M.
Policy and Procedures Report April 10, 2022 Hello all, A big thanks to Richard, Jennifer, Josie, Mark and Greg for attending the Policy and Procedure committee meeting. Here is a summary of the discussion we had on the following topics: RETURN TO FACE TO FACE Richard spoke to the folk at the Goodman Center and they are willing to host the monthly in-person BASC area meetings (12-3:00 pm) beginning May 15th. The meeting will take place in the same room as the Breakfast Club meeting. Richard said the room has adequate space to accommodate the area meeting and the sale of literature. At this point masks are required in common areas at the Goodman center and can be removed once in the room. The meeting will be hybrid (in person and online in Zoom). We would welcome any input on the best way to get the word out to meetings. We are developing a flyer that will be available to GSRs at the April Area meeting. Richard: Thank you so much for your footwork on this! Josie: Will share the news at the April Area meeting Jane: Will provide technical support for the hybrid meeting Jennifer: Work on a flyer and bring an extension cord Future Topic for discussion: Inquire about possibly storing literature at the center

Policy and Procedures Report - continued April 10, 2022 LITERATURE POSITION Our P&P states under the duties of each of the BASC administrative committee members: “Attend Subcommittee meetings whenever possible and along with the rest of the AC, provide leadership for any Subcommittee without a chairperson.” Presently the literature chair position is vacant. Leah has generously agreed to attend the upcoming in-person Area meeting in May and provide guidance to whoever is willing to cover that position. Greg: Volunteered to cover the position at the May area meeting. Thanks Greg. Richard: Will reach out to Colleen to see if she would be interested in covering. Jane: I would also be willing to cover the position at a future meeting PAYPAL The use of Paypal was implemented along with other emergency accommodations in response to COVID. We had a discussion about whether to continue using it for submission of 7th tradition. With going back to in-person Area, PayPal may no longer be needed for 7th tradition. Continued use of PayPal will require an extensive change to Area policy to insure financial accountability. Greg: Will make his recommendations at the April area meeting. Thanks Greg! CARRYING THE MESSAGE TO TREATMENT CENTERS This topic was brought up at the March Area meeting. Specifically, the question was under which committee coordinates carrying the message to treatment centers (like Newstart). After reviewing NA’s handbooks, it was determined Public Relations is that subcommittee. Discussion of this topic will be taken up at the next Public Relations subcommittee meeting in April. Thanks Mark! OTHER ISSUES Josie: Will contact administrative committee members who have co-signer responsibilities and get them added to the bank account so we are able to write any necessary checks at the inperson Area meeting in May. Thanks Josie! Thank you all for your service!! See you all Sunday! Best, Jane Policy and Procedure Chair

PR Report April 10, 2022 Good afternoon, thanks for coming. Moment of Silence followed by Serenity Prayer. Service Workers Prayer. Attendance: Mark S., Mike R., Carl R., Jennifer M. Josie F. Chairperson report: Mark S. Thank you for everyone attending. We will have eight meetings this year to discuss various aspects of Public Relations of NA in the Badgerland Area. We will be meeting on these months: February, April, May, July August, October, The PR sub-committee meetings to be held virtually on the Zoom link provided on the Badgerland website on the day BASC meeting occurs at 11:00am.The remaining PR meetings will be held virtually after this meeting. First of all, we received an email from Michelle, the H & I/PR chairperson of the We Do Recover virtual Area saying that a member of her subcommittee had made contact with Fort Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson. The intent of the contact was for their subcommittee to able to place literature in their emergency room and to inform the ER staff about Narcotics Anonymous. I had about a 30 minute talk with Michelle about this and stepping on toes, etc. I will contact the HR person or the person in charge of the Fort Memorial Hospital about a sign placement in their ER and business cards directing them to the Badgrerland or Wisconsin Region website and the new Region wide Helpline number. Next, Mike R. informed me that our subcommittee should work on contacting treatment centers in our Area and possibly sending them our Resource Letter to introduce them to Narcotics Anonymous. Gary the Regional PR chairperson has not yet invited me into the Archives to access the list of treatment centers in our Area. There were some concerns about the Residence Inn on the east side of Madison. We recommend that we put up one sign and business cards in the lobby if the management allows. We feel that because that the residents could be still using it poses a risk to the NA fellowship and NA members as a whole that go in to speak those residents. PSAs: There has been no correspondence in the last month from Brad Kish about extending the play of our PSA on the three radio stations or any other radio stations under his command. I will do a follow-up with Brad to see if he can have our PSA aired again on these radio stations. We emailed iHeart radio about airing the Narcotics Anonymous PSA. Bus Signs & Store Signs: No work or updates on these in the last month Rock for Recovery & Voices of Recovery: need to open discussion on these? Regional Notes: I had to leave the Regional PR meeting early so Cheryl H. took notes and emailed them to me. We can go over them if you want. With the meetings starting to open-up please be sure to inform PR of any meeting changes.
The next PR meeting will be May 15th at 11:00am Thank your all for showing up to 11:00 am PR meeting Thanks for letting me serve Mark S.
