GSRs vote unanimous. • Mike R. motions for Cameron to head ad hoc Social Media policy for future BASC review. All approve. • Jenifer K. suggests changing Oct mtg to Oct 15. Richard will check on Goodman room availability. • RCM report: No news. Next Regional Mtg next weekend, Sept 16-17, Paul will attend by Zoom. • Colleen notes vacant Trusted Servant positions. • Elicia makes Camp- Out summary: A big success, great participation. Extra food left-over donated to sober houses. • Paul makes Camp Out Financial/Inventory Report - $286.00 collected in fees, donations, and 7th Tradition; Exel inventory in Paul’s laptop of drink stock for future events and submitted to Marc for record. • Liz requests funds to obtain books/literature via Member Development budget for 5 Door’s development, start up books were provided to group. • Elisia requests literature/Just for Today books, Women’s phone lists, etc. for institutions conducting recovery meetings. 5x Just for Todays and 1x Basic Text donated to Elisia’s group. • Richard refers to Project Hope support for institutions, fyi. • Jenifer notes annual “new group’ start up fund with $50.00 budget for Fiscal 2023. BASC Secretary Report September 10, 2023
Dear Members, I hope this message finds you well. As the Secretary of the Badgerland Area of Narcotics Anonymous, it is my duty to keep you informed about the tasks I have recently completed on behalf of our fellowship. Here is a summary of the tasks I’ve accomplished: 1. Checked the PO Box: On 10/11 I visited our designated post office box to ensure we have received /any correspondence or donations. I am happy to report that our PO Box remains active and functioning correctly. During this visit, I collected any mail, donations, or communications and forwarded them to the appropriate individuals or committees for further action. 2. Attended Sunday Session of the Wisconsin Region Meeting: On 9/24, I represented our fellowship at the Wisconsin Region meeting. This gathering provided an excellent opportunity for me to stay updated on regional NA activities and share information about the events and activities happening in our Badgerland Area. If you have any specific questions or need further information about the proceedings of this meeting, please feel free to contact me directly. 3. Secured Location for Halloween Event: We have successfully secured a location for our upcoming Halloween Event, scheduled for 10/21. I worked closely with the Halloween Committee (Colleen) to ensure that we have a suitable venue for our celebration. This location(CMC Fitchburg) offers ample space for our event, is accessible, and aligns with our commitment to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our members. 4. Completed September Minutes: The minutes of our September meeting have been compiled, reviewed, and finalized. I have attached a copy of the minutes to this report for your reference. Please review them at your earliest convenience and let me know if you have any corrections or amendments to propose. 5. Sent Email to the Badgerland NA Facebook Page Administrators: I have communicated with the administrators of the Badgerland NA Facebook page to kindly request a name change to the name “Badgerland Area of Narcotics Anonymous.” This change is in line with our commitment to maintain consistent and accurate branding across all our communication channels. I will keep you updated on their response. If you have any questions, concerns, or require additional details regarding the completion of these tasks, including the request to the Facebook page administrators, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Your input and feedback are essential in ensuring the success of our fellowship. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for entrusting me with the role of Secretary for the Badgerland Area of Narcotics Anonymous. Public Relations Subcommittee Report September 10, 2023 Good Afternoon, if any groups have changes, updates or additions, Mike R. can update these for you right now 1. Signs: Madison Metro has eliminated their interior bus signs program. We will receiving 20 plus interior bus signs to provide Janesvile”Beloit with the updated signs. This will give Badgerland Area a budgeted cost saving of approximately $800.00. 2. We received 2 proposals for getting information out to addicts on how to find our website and helpline number. 3. Tail bus signs on 2 Madison Metro buses for 4 weeks at a cost of $525.90. 4. 2 Billboard signs on Packers Avenue in Madison and Highway 51 between Beloit & Janesville for 28 days at the cost of $633.00. 5. Events: Our committee attended the Overdose Awareness Walk on August 31st in Beloit and the Rally For Recovery at the State Capitol on September 9th and we shared with and informed the public about Narcotics Anonymous, We will be attending Rock For Recovery in Janesvile on October 11th and displaying our booth and again talking to the public about Narcotics Anonymous. 6. County Courts: I received a contact in Rock County for PR and it is the current Clerk Of Court. Matt L. from the Wisconsin Regrional Public Relations subcommiittee who does Narcotics Anonymous presentations will be available to do presentations when needed. 7. THe PR committee reccomends that the tail bus signs and the 2 billboards funds be made available as soon as possible. H&I Report
September 10, 2023 Badgerland H&I continues holding in person and virtual meetings throughout the area including our new Sauk County location. We are actively seeking volunteers to broaden our outreach and hope to begin detox meetings when we can find the volunteers necessary.
