Addict called Mark. Are there any groups needing to update, change or add meeting information, if so, Mike R. can do that now to ensure accuracy.
I believe its time we all become part of the solution. I was part of the problem when I didn’t attend Hug A Fool and Bowling For Newcomers. Can I have all the GSRs raise their hand? Looks like we have ____ . That would mean if each GSR brought three others to the Unity picnic, we would have ____ people in addiction to those who would normally show up. This is not about PR/H & I or the badgerland Area, it’s about our primary purpose as stated in Tradition 5. We ask that a bring a hot or cold dish to pass: plug-ins will be available...please bring extension cords. Cold food boats will be provided to keep cold food cold. For those who still have them, please wear your PR t-shirts!
In addition to the speakers, we will be handing out laminated badgerland area signs to those who attend the short workshop. These signs direct addicts or anyone interested in recovery from the disease of addiction to badgerland area website and Region wide helpline number.
The following is a summary of the picnic events: worked on myself, Richard and Mike.
Bus Signs: I emailed Madison Metro and they replied, saying that the bus signs on the Madison buses are still usable for the 2024 bus sign drive, in fact, the signs are still posted.
I contacted Houck Transit Advertising and a proof or original copy of the bus sign was sent with the new Region wide helpline. This year we will purchase 20 new signs for the Janesville/Beloit buses which means, as of January 2024 we no longer need the old badgerland helpline number. We reccomend that the old number is removed from the Region wide helpline for transferring calls.
Janesville Gazette: It looks like, after many months, that the Gazette Extra is finally almost accurate.
I continue to attempt to contact the Rock County services, and will do so for Dane, Jefferson, and Green County’s for possible PR presentions.
The next PR subcommittee meeting will be on June 7th, 2023 at 8pm CST on Zoom

H&I Report

H&I held a subcommittee meeting on Sun. May 7th. Updates and reports from local institutions were given and a general call to increase volunteers was discussed. The Dane County Jail Men’s volunteers have created a line of communication to ensure better attendance on the part of our volunteers. Tellurian Detox has approached us and would be open to having NA return to helping with meetings at the facility. June 3rd H&I will hold a joint workshop with the PR Committee in Evansville to help recruit volunteers. The all day event will stress fellowship and inform attendees about the duties our subcommittees perform.
Badgerland H&I is working to assure a smooth transition of Co-Chairs in the Winter.
