BADGERLAND AREA Public Relations Subcommittee Report

Good afternoon, Area…The PR subcommittee is looking forward to another productive year in the area of Public Relations. We will be having PR subcommittee meetings for 8 or 9 months, In January, February, April, May, July, August, October, November & possibly December. We will be holding these meetings at 11am just before the Noon Area Service meeting, most likely in Mike’s Jeep on the way to the Goodman Center and online at 876 4582 7208 PWD 2020. Come join us!!

1. Bus Signs: Peg Anthony of Madison Metro has assured me that all 50 signs are up in the buses and will be there for the next 3 months. Peg replaced all 50 old signs with 50 brand new signs with the new helpline number without charging us an extra fee. She also provided us with 50 8 by 11 signs which our subcommittee has decided that addicts should place then at treatment centers. Our other 20 bus signs are still being displayed on the Janesville and Beloit buses.

2.2023 Budget.: After our subcommittee reviewed last year’s budget, we came up with our 2023 PR budget that we adjusted higher for more need and inflation and came up with what we considered a needed budget and y’all passed it. Thank you for your great support and faith in us.

3. Public Service Announcements: We started to reconnected with the TV and radio stations in the Badgerland Area. Fox47 TV station has told us that our PSA is still in their rotation of PSAs that they show during their broadcast day. Awesome! Other TV stations will be contacted in the near future, With the radio PSAs, I was trying to connect with a local newspaper and I stumbled upon a business called Big Radio in Janesville and we will be contacting them and we still are trying to connect with iHeart Radio who own around 10 to 15 stations

4. Newspapers: I have been trying to contact Janesville Gazette to correct the meeting information in their EXTRA portion of their paper, its been taking awhile!! Also I will contacting other newspaper to see they have a weekly listing of support groups of which NA can be included.

5.Business Cards: Mike and I are currently looking for VistaPrints sales to order 4000 Business Cards in the near future. More will be revealed!
