REPORT: Breakfast Club held a very successful breakfast Jan. 29th with about 60 attendees. Rob M was our speaker. Money raised will be used to purchase literature which the Breakfast Club gives away. The Breakfast Club is a Spiritual Principles meeting and each week we read from the new Spiritual Principles Book.

Public Relations Subcommittee Report

Good afternoon, Area…The PR subcommittee is looking forward to another productive year in the area of Public Relations. We will be having PR subcommittee meetings for 8 or 9 months, In January, February, April, May, July, August, October, November & possibly December. We will be holding these meetings at 11am just before the Noon Area Service meeting, most likely in Mike’s Jeep on the way to the Goodman Center and online at 876 4582 7208 PWD 2020. Come join us!!

1. Bus Signs: The bus signs are on the Madison buses with new phoneline number are up and the bus signs on the Janesville And Beloit remain on the buses. We probably could start replacing them in the coming years.

2.2023 Budget.: Our budget got approved last month and we appreciate the support of the Badgerland Area for helping in all of our PR goals for this year. We are going ask the Area for $184.30 for 4000 business cards; our budgeted amount for business cards is $193.70.

3. Follow up on Radio an TV PSAs: A. Sent a email to Big Radio

H&I Report

Badgerland H&I held it’s Quarterly Meeting on Sunday Jan. 15th with approx. 10 folks in attendance. We utilized the time to “check in” with each other and share our experiences with H&I. We were pleased to see an addition of at least five new volunteers for our Dane Co. Jail meetings and are happy to say one of the newest volunteers is our very own Secretary Marc! Congrats Marc and thanks for bringing two other volunteers along with you. Richard had a test run of the virtual equipment for Sauk Co. Jail and it worked! We’re now awaiting scheduling to be worked out on their end to begin our weekly Tuesday night virtual meeting. Thanks to everyone for their patience and continued support as we approach the two year mark on this project. H&I also purchased over $500. in literature for Dane Co. Jails and 100 little white books for the Oakhill facility. Dan G. has reached out to help coordinate meetings at the Tellurian Detox Center and will be reporting on progress there.

Addict named Mike, I want to thank Rob and Crystal D., Bonnie G., Billy W., Carl R., and Jill my better half, the Evansville and Stoughton group’s and all who participate in the Badgerland Area event. Please never forget badgerland Area isn’t a geographical location of just the Madison meetings. There were people who drove about two hours to attend. I’d like to first say that most of this was written prior to the event so excuse me if some things are not as accurate as I’d like. Looking at the past receipt from 2017 I increased the amount I asked for thinking I would be close. Well with two groups (Evansville and Stoughton) donating ($40.00 each) for a total of $80.00 and a donation of 10 lbs. of ground beef I figured we would make the budget of $300.00. Now comes the question for this Area do you want to know what it really costs for this type of event with a decent meal? Some money for the DJ and facility were $150.00 as stated on the budget. The remaining $150.00 budgeted, plus $80.00 donated and the 10lbs. ground beef wasn’t quite enough for food, plates, bowls utensils, and decorations. I really appreciate the left-over pop and water as it was clean and still good to sell we did however need bowls, more plates and forks. Some of the money was spent to have enough plates, bowls and utensils based on the previous Hearts and Hugs event in Evansville where we fed approximately 80 or more. So that being said I had to put $169.87 of my own money to purchase all the food even with the donations stated above. I didn’t receive a check from Area in time to pay the DJ or facility and did so out of the funds brought in. So in order to have this type of meal in this type of venue with a DJ and minimal decorations in the future it will cost about $440.00 without pop and water to sell, that’s if the DJ is $75.00 and facility is $75.00. The total participants were approximately 65 to 70 the total money from door, 7th. Tradition, 50/50 raffle and, left-over pop sale $631.00 The reason for selling all the remaining pop is that there are no future events planned and we have thrown pop out in the past. I’m asking for BASC for an additional $19.87 or a total of $319.87 which is over the original budget of $300.00. If reimbursed the $169.87 BASC netted $313.13 total 7th. Tradition. I never did receive a check from Area which is somewhat understandable as we have a new Treasurer just getting going. So, I can either take cash out of the money I brought, or you can write a check to me for $169.87 as the DJ and facility was paid in cash.
