The summer feature of Gen de Art with the famous artwork “Woman with Lipstick” by Fernando Botero on its cover takes the reader on a colourful journey through the world of artistic expression, with the greens of the French vineyards to the blue of Japan’s HOSHINOYA resort. We start this experience from the blossoming vineyards of Burgundy and Champagne and conversations with leading French wine producers, including representatives of Krug Champagne, Domaine Georges Noëllat Vosne-Romanée, and winemaker Olivier Bernstein himself. As we leave the beautiful landscapes of France, we arrive in Japan to meet the living artists working in diverse techniques: lacquer coating by Isao Onishi, Seitaro Kuroda’s graphic design and paintings, as well as architecture-inspired creations of Takeo Obayashi and Souun Takeda’s calligraphy.
