Domaine A. F. Gros was founded in Burgundy, France, back in 1988 when reputable winemaker Anne-Françoise Gros took over her father’s diminishing estate and decided to reinvent
the brand. Today, the estate is managed by two generations of established wine producers – Anne-Françoise herself and her husband François Parent. Parent also has managed to build an impressive reputation in the world of winemaking, being known for his internationally recognized pinot noir wines. Since the foundation of Domaine A. F. Gros, Parent has been viewed as the estate’s creative genius, carefully developing all of its wines year after year. ドメーヌ・A. F. グロは、1988 年にフランスのブルゴーニュに 誕生しました。有名な醸造家アンヌ・フランソワーズ・グロ が父の畑を継承し、ブランドを再生することにしたのです。現 在、このドメーヌには、別の系譜の有名醸造家も関わっていま す。アンヌ・フランソワーズの夫、フランソワ・パランです。 パランもワイン界で名を馳せており、彼のピノ ・ノワールは世界的にも 有名です。 ドメーヌ・A. The Possibilities of "Japanese Cuisine" Seen Through the Life of Toru Okuda 奥田透の人生から見る “ 日本料理 “ の可能性 GINZA KOJYU X GINZA OKUDA X LE SUSHI OKUDA Toru Okuda is the head chef of Kojyu in Ginza, and he strives to spread the word of “Washoku” (Japanese cuisine), that has been recognised as a world heritage. We were given the opportunity to talk with him about the world view of the exquisite Washoku, and how its dignity is perceived in France, the land of the gourmand, as well as his approach to cooking and his passion for sharing culinary culture.

Worldview of Japanese Paintings and YOSHIHIRO KITA’s Visions of Nature Bringing Things Old and Beautiful to the Present
Born in Tokushima Prefecture in 1978, renowned Japanese artist Yoshihiro Kita has breathed a new life into traditional Japanese art, bring-ing it to the modern age. Kita received his PhD in Japanese painting at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts where his disser-tation titled "The Influence, Resonant, and Incorporation of the Forest" attracted a great deal of attention. While his works are primarily ex-hibited in department stores all around Japan, many of his pieces are being delivered to the homes of art lovers across the country. Kita says that, through the complex texture of his paintings, he aspires to provoke feelings of deep emotion and passion in the viewer, mirroring his thoughts and feelings about the art of Japanese painting.

ADVENTURING WITH CERAMICS Life as Tokuda Yasokichi, and the Traditions of “Japan Kutani” Ware Tokuda Yasokichi IV is a potter who specialises in Kutani ware. She succeeded her father, Tokuda Yasokichi III, who was designated a Living National Treasure. We asked her about her life and unique worldview, and how they helped her utilise the beautiful, vivid colours of the Kutani gosai-de (classical five colours) she inherited from her predecessors to create her own style.

SHO SHIBUYA Japanese artist Sho Shibuya is a world-renowned visual creator famous for his provocative works painted against the backdrop of The New York Times newspaper pages. His rise to fame is out-ofthe-ordinary: starting his career with a background in architecture and graphic design, building a business in Japan, moving to New York without knowing a word of English. As of today, however, his works have been exhibited in a variety museums and galleries across the world. Sho Shibuya will be featured in the ongoing show E/MOTION opening this September at MoMu, the fashion museum of Antwerp, Belgium. In our conversation, the artist talks us through his creative process and inspiration, as well as shared his thoughts on the importance of making a social impact. ニューヨーク・タイムズ紙の背景となった刺激的な作品で世界に その名を知らしめた日本人アーティスト、ショウ・シブヤ。建築 やグラフィックデザインを学んだのち日本でビジネスを立ち上げ、 英語が全く話せないままニューヨークに移住した、異色の経歴の 持ち主です。 現在、彼の作品は世界各地の美術館やギャラリーで展示されてお り、今年 9 月にベルギー・アントワープのファッションミュージ アム・MoMu で始まったショー「E/MOTION」にもその名を連ね、 １月には東京でも個展を予定しています。 今回シブヤは、アートの創作プロセスやインスピレーション、社会 にインパクトを与える重要性について考えを語ってくれました。 Photo/ Grace Lin Gen de Art October 2021
