Cytopathology Fellowship
Advance your expertise in diagnostic cytopathology
Are you inspired by uncovering disease at the cellular level? Our 1-year ACGMEaccredited Cytopathology Fellowship offers comprehensive training in a high-volume, multidisciplinary environment using the latest technology and innovative practices.
Program highlights:
• Train in a state-of-the-art lab processing:
» 30,000+ gynecologic cases
» 7,000 non-gynecologic cases
» 4,500 FNAs annually
• Hands-on experience in FNA biopsies, including ultrasound-guided procedures
• Participate in telecytology ROSE service and on-site evaluations
• Gain expertise in ancillary tests: immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, molecular pathology
• Learn from nationally recognized faculty and join weekly tumor boards, grand rounds and board review sessions
• Engage in research and quality improvement projects with opportunities to present at national meetings

Dermatopathology Fellowship
Specialize at the cellular level
Take your passion for dermatology or pathology further with this 1-year ACGMEaccredited fellowship — boasting a 100% first-attempt board certification success rate since 2006.
Program highlights:
• Two fellows accepted annually
• Guided by 9 expert dermatopathologists
• Exposure to a diverse mix of inflammatory dermatoses and tumors
• Supported by advanced techniques: immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, molecular testing

Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology Fellowship
Train future confident GI/liver specialists
Our 1-year fellowship provides extensive training in adult and pediatric GI biopsy, GI resection, pancreatic/biliary biopsy, pancreatic resection (whole mount), liver biopsy and resection, including transpant liver.
Program highlights:
• Train with 4 subspecialized GI/liver pathologists
• High-volume, high-complexity cases, including 70,000 GI biopsy and resection cases, including 500 pancreas cases and 4,000 liver cases (including liver transplantation cases) each year
• Supported by advanced immunohistochemical stainings and NGS tests
• Clinical endoscopy rotation is available

Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship
Master the science behind precision medicine
Our 1-year ACGME-accredited fellowship provides intensive training in molecular biology, genetics and cutting-edge diagnostic technologies — with a strong focus on next-generation sequencing (NGS).
Program highlights:
• Two positions offered at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.
• Train with 5 subspecialized molecular pathologists
• High-volume, high-complexity testing: 15,000+ cases/year, including 75 NGS cases weekly
• Access Geisinger’s MyCode database with whole-exome sequencing for 100,000+ people
• CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited labs with state-of-the-art equipment
• Immersive rotations in Medical Genetics and Genomics at Geisinger and University of Pittsburgh
