The Small Island Future Fest (SIFF) held on the 28-29th June2019 at the Pelican Centre was a success by all accounts.
The event lived up to its expectation as the premier environmental festival in the Caribbean, attracting more than 6000 patrons over the two days. Patrons included students from 13 schools, cruise tourists, civil servants, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens and the general public.
The festival integrated the sustainable development goals (SDGs) creatively to raise awareness. It showcased what it means to live sustainably in a Small Island through the use of food, fashion, film, poetry, music, dance, applied science and real world live demonstrations. Over 80 exhibitors who epitomize sustainable living and are actively involved in building the blue and green economy were on exhibition and shared their experiences and knowledge.
SIFF is the flagship initiative of the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) implemented by
UNDP in collaboration with the Future Centre
